Manufacturing Integration Engineer

 

Description

We are looking for a Manufacturing Integration Engineer to be a core member, and technical expert/liaison within the assigned new product development team. This role is responsible for the overall manufacturing strategy, providing coordination and oversight of all technical disciplines. The Manufacturing Integration Engineer will be empowered to drive resources to overcome barriers and to achieve financial and technical assumptions of the program. 

What You Will Do In Your Role

  • Provide New Product Development team with a specialized technical lead
  • Serves as the liaison between the Product Development Team (PDT) and technical individuals with specific talents that can contribute to the success of the project
  • Partners with Procurement, Quality, and product engineering in support of the specific business segment and as an advocate for both the design center and the manufacturing plant of choice
  • Responsible owner for the overall manufacturing process from concept to production hand off
  • Responsible for building the manufacturing quote summary based on inputs from each technical expertise group
  • Is accountable for documentation in support of the PDT phases (7) and for delivering the message on status, issues and barriers and milestones related to manufacturing to the organization on a per phase basis as part of the greater PDT team
  • Fully integrated in technical solutions by leading the technical investigation and developing the solution through collaboration and direct hands on when needed
  • Partner with Engineering on Simultaneous engineering
  • Perform other related duties as needed
  • Travel globally 10-20%

The Experience You Will Bring

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in applied science or mechanical engineering or Industrial Engineering
  • 2+ years’ experience with process trouble shooting, continuous improvement and has a working knowledge of quality tools such as 5-why, 8D and Ishikawa/Fish bone
  • 2+ years’ experience working with manufacturing plants and engineering performing feasibility and process capabilities as part of New Product development

What Will Put You Ahead

  • Business degree or Project Management
  • 10+ years’ experience in New Product development for manufacturing (Design for manufacturing)
