Georgia Pacific’s Naheola Mill at Pennington, AL has a rare opportunity for successful candidates to hire directly into the Powerhouse Line of Progression. Once trained, employees will work initially as an Auxiliary Operator (primarily with field responsibilities).

The starting pay is $17.58 per hour, with a pay increase after 90 days.

What You Will Do In Your Role

The Powerhouse provides all Steam, Water, Electricity and Compressed Air for the Naheola Mill. Entry level work includes field hand on boilers and air systems. The Role progresses from there to water plant operations (water sampling and testing, chemical addition and operator basic care rounds of the water plant and effluent systems), then to operating the water plant, boilers and ultimately steam turbines.  Candidates must successfully pass an MBM® Interview process regarding these qualifications and expectations.

The Experience You Will Bring

Requirements:

  • Excellent Communication Skills. Expresses ideas clearly and concisely both orally and in writing
  • Self-motivated, self-directed and a team player
  • Minimum One (1) year industrial experience
  • Basic troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Experience in the following computer programs: MS Windows, MS Word, MS Excel and MS Outlook

What Will Put You Ahead:

  • Two (2) Year Technical / Industrial Degree
  • Pulp & Paper Mill Experience
