The successful candidate will be provided a $10,000 signing bonus after starting the new role. External candidates and internal Koch company employees moving to the new location when hired are considered eligible.

Georgia-Pacific is seeking an Electrical Crew Leader (Paper Machines) to join our Cedar Springs, GA containerboard facility. This is an exciting opportunity to lead a team and make an impact on our Cedar Springs mill. The front-end Electrical Crew Leader will supervise the daily work of unionized electricians in the paper machines, recycling, and finishing/shipping areas of the mill. This position leads the daily activities of a team of electricians in the areas of safety, quality and maintenance for all equipment and buildings to meet the departmental goals. The successful person will possess strong communication, organizational, problem solving, interpersonal, coaching and mentoring skills. The front-end Electrical Crew Leader will report to the front-end Maintenance Leader.  Long-term value is created through the application of the company’s business philosophy of Principle Based Management and Georgia-Pacific’s Guiding Principles.

What You Will Do In Your Role

  • Provide leadership consistent with our Principle Based Management  philosophy
  • Coach, manage and teach electrical crew in the fiberline and utilities area of the mill
  • Lead team safety meetings - must consistently contribute to the efforts of the Cedar Springs mill to continuously improve safety
  • Responsible for the execution of daily routine, periodic and annual shutdown work orders for the back end of the mill 
  • Ensure key performance indicators are captured and reported for equipment reliability, maintenance department performance and planning and scheduling business flow process - these include schedule compliance, break-in data, backlog metrics, and PM adherence
  • Develop and maintain an effective working relationship with Operation, Procurement, Engineering, and Maintenance Planners
  • Lead efforts to improve maintenance reliability by applying reliability principles such as Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) and Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) to identify the appropriate predicative and preventative maintenance procedures
  • Utilize excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with multiple levels of the organization
  • Be flexible and be able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Motivate team to meet or exceed expectations
  • Employ strategic thinking and organizational skills
  • Use and leverage technology effectively

The Experience You Will Bring

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • Leadership experience in Pulp/Paper or heavy industrial environment with manufacturing processes
  • Electrical and instrumentation experience - with an emphasis on maintenance/reliability within a manufacturing environment
  • Knowledge of industrial pumps, agitators and screens
  • Experience using Microsoft Office programs such as Word (to write business correspondence), Excel (for use of spreadsheets, reporting, simple formulas) and Outlook (for internal and external correspondence)

 

What Will Put You Ahead

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Pulp and Paper Science
  • Experience in paper production and processing operations
  • Technical Writing Experience
  • Convergence or Learning Management Systems administration
  • Experience with Distributed Control Systems (DCS), AC/DC Variable Speed Drives, Loop Controls, Schweitzer relays, Analytical Instrumentation, Control Valves, Motor Circuits, AC/DC Motors, Control Networks, Machine Drives and Power Distribution

The Cedar Springs facility is one of the largest containerboard facilities in the country with three paper machines that make different weights of brown paper & containerboard paper.
