Assistant Terminal Manager

Flint Hills Resources is currently seeking an Assistant Terminal Manager to work with our Pipelines and Terminals team supporting our Cottage Grove Operations and Maintenance Teams.

In this role, you will use your proven leadership qualities and work with the Maintenance Manager & Operations Supervisor in supporting day-to-day operations, manage projects and mentor employees at our Cottage Grove Terminal. A critical part of this role will be to lead the team through Operational/Maintenance transformation while creating a work environment that enables employees to innovate current work practices. Communication skills and the ability to stay organized while assessing priorities will be keys to your success.

This role also offers a flexible 9/80’s work schedule, meaning there is the potential for every other Friday off depending on workload.

A Day In The Life Typically Includes:

  • Overseeing Operations/Maintenance across multiple pipeline station sites
  • Supervision of employees to include coaching, mentoring, and development of skills / MBM
  • Ensuring our commitment to compliance, safety and environmental performance by all employees and contractors
  • Learning FHR leadership expectations and applying our risk profile across the facilities
  • Leading Management of Change along with project planning and execution.
  • Collaborate with internal and external customers, support staff, P&T and Refinery Operations
  • Exhibiting ownership of projects and issues across multiple sites which requires 24/7 on-call availability when issues arise


What You Will Need:

Basic Qualifications:

  • Operations experience and/or prior military experience
  • Valid driver's license
  • Ability to meet the physical requirements listed in the job description
  • Willingness to be on-call and work after-hours to support the business
  • Must be willing to utilize Personal Protective Equipment as required (including hard hat, safety glasses, fire retardant clothing, respirator, safety work boots)


 What Will Put You Ahead?

  • Previous operations leadership experience
  • Previous construction/maintenance experience
  • Previous work experience in pipeline operations or a bulk petroleum storage terminal

 

Physical Requirements:

 
Ability to safely lift at least 50 pounds, negotiate in, on, and around piping at both grade level and above grade level elevations, navigate vertical ladders and spiral tank stairs to reach work areas, occasionally enter confined spaces through 24" diameter manways, and tolerate scents common to petroleum products and fertilizer loading operations, as well as those of construction and maintenance related activities such as welding, painting, and tank cleaning.
