Operations Shift Leader

We are seeking Operations Shift Leader to join our team at our Orange, TX plant. The Operations Shift Leader is responsible for leadership and direct supervision of a team of Field Operators in the Operating Areas to meet Safety, Environmental, Production, and Plant Operating Cost goals.

What You Will Do In Your Role

  • Motivate, influence, and drive good business decisions forward while working with a diverse workforce.
  • Collaborate with the Operations Shift Leaders in all units to ensure a shared vision across Invista Orange site.
  • Responsible for Incident Investigation Process (Enablon), RCA quality, and Corrective Actions to improve EH&S / Reliability of Assets.
  • Maintain the capability for the Emergency Response Team including emergency response training, qualification, drills, and ability to lead incident response at the Orange facility.
  • Accountable for the Field Operations team performance metrics: Personnel/Process Safety, Environmental, Production, Product Quality, and Reliable Operations.
  • Develops team members and helps them understand the economics of their units and how that impacts our market competitiveness. They recognize all types of resources consumed and are focused on using fewer of them.
  • Quickly assess operating gaps and take corrective action.
  • Use benchmarking and best practices to drive value creation.

Physical Expectations:

  • Willing to work up to a 12-hour day shift as business needs dictate. Although this is a primarily a flexible day shift schedule, rotating or night shift may be required during unplanned events or unit outages.
  • Ability to climb ladders and stairs to elevated platforms by ladder (includes egress), accessing multiple floors of open structures by stairway (includes egress)
  • Ability to work in outdoor conditions
  • Operating company vehicles
  • Required to wear any or all the following Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): safety glasses, hearing protection, goggles, hard hats, Nomex, gloves, and safety boots.

The Experience You Will Bring


One of the following

  • Associates degree or higher in a technical field (Engineering, Industrial, etc.) and two or more years’ experience in leadership.
  • (2) or more years of experience at a KOCH Manufacturing Facility
  • (5) or more years of experience as a Supervisor in a Manufacturing or Petrochemical facility.

What Will Put You Ahead

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field/ Reliability Engineering experience
  • Experience in emergency response including firefighting, hazmat response, rescue techniques, and/or medical response
  • Experience relative to computer and production reporting systems (i.e. SAP, KRONOS, etc.)
  • Experience troubleshooting equipment issues and facilitating RCA, Cause Mapping, and Failure Mode Cause Analysis
  • Production, Process, or Maintenance Engineering experience
  • Maintenance or Turnaround Management Experience
