Primary Purpose

1. NPI project development.
2. Commercialization project engineering support. 
   
3. Chengdu Manufacturing engineering support.
4. Engineering support for other design center. 
   
5. Department operation and improvement activities. 
   

What You Will Do In Your Role

1. Review and interpret customer design requirements from Marketing, Sales or Customer drawings or specifications.
2. Review Requirements (drawing, model and standard…), feasibility assessment, and any exceptions with the Product Development Team (PDT) to gain Approval.   
3. Technical discussion with customer regarding the design feasibility and primary test plan.  
4. Perform design verification activities including tolerance analysis, FEA, SLA and patent investigation. 
5. Release ok to tool drawings and models for tooling design and development.  
6. Establish test plan for product reliability testing and review with reliability lab to ensure all documentation, est samples, equipment, fixtures, etc are ready for testing.  
7. Lead FOT part review.  
8. Support tooling engineers in disposing First Article inspection reports. And approve or disapprove product deviation requests.  
9. Problem solving using E8D  
10. Provide training to customer and other Molex engineering personnel as assigned by the Product Development Manager.  
11. Provide design support for product modifications and/or extensions.  
12. Provide design support for manufacturing process improvements   
13. Respond to customer complaints on design related issues.               
    

The Experience You Will Bring

Requirements:

1. University Degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent, and above.
2. Good knowledge of product design process  
3. At least 3 year of connector design experience and application;  
   
4. Adopt a professional attitude towards work and assume full responsibility for any project or tasks assigned;
   
5. Demonstrate good teamwork for overall success;
6. CAD Software for drafting and modeling
   
7. Connector design and manufacturing technologies;
   
8. Connector materials – resin and metal;
   
9. Design problem solving skills – 8D, DFMEA, Tolerance Analysis.
10. SI basic knowledge
    
11. Able to communicate (reading, writing, speaking and listening) in English
