 KES is looking to hire a Mechanical Engineer to learn, grow, and apply their knowledge to transform our business. The Mechanical Engineer will work on heat exchanger, pressure vessel, and steel structure designs, as well as align with our shared value system to manage challenging situations. This position requires a strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects and constantly review competing priorities. They will work closely with project teams across multi-functional support groups and communicate clearly across all teams throughout the project scope to solve problems and troubleshoot accordingly.

This role is open to candidates in Tulsa, OK and Wichita, KS.

What You Will Do In Your Role

  • Perform calculations for static equipment such as pressure vessels, pressure piping, and heat exchanger systems as per domestic and international codes and standards
  • Perform strength calculations for steel stacks and support structures
  • Conduct pipe stress and flexibility analysis of piping systems.
  • Support and provide technical guidance to CAD designers and drafters and review inhouse and vendor drawing submittals
  • Initiate and coordinate engineering activities related to the packages
  • Utilize Finite Element Analysis (FEA) tools, when required, to perform stress analysis of complex geometries
  • Work proactively with supply chain and manufacturing teams to apply Design for Manufacturability methodology
  • Understand the requirements of the different pressure equipment regulatory authorities and co-ordinate with them for design registration
  • Provide all relevant information to the design team such as material requirements, testing requirements, design sketches for completion of the design package.

The Experience You Will Bring


  • Bachelor’s Degree in an Engineering Discipline
  • Experience working with Finite Element Analysis (FEA)
  • Knowledge of ASME Sect. VIII Div. 1 Code
  • Experience with CAD and MS Office Suite software

What Will Put You Ahead

  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering
  • Significant experience in Finite Element Analysis utilizing Ansys
  • P.E. License in any state or province
  • Knowledge of AISC codes
  • Knowledge of NACE standards
  • Heat Exchanger design experience
  • Working experience in an ETO environment and/or with an OEM
