Flint Hills Resources is looking to hire a Asset Engineer at our Pine Bend refinery in Rosemount, MN. This role will focus as a strategic equipment owner and holds responsibilities as a reliability engineer. This person will work with Processes, Fixed Equipment, Rotating, Instrument and Electrical Engineers, to drive reliability strategies across a diverse range of both equipment types and production processes.

What You Will Do In Your Role

  • Perform root cause failure analysis to understand equipment failures and update equipment reliability strategies as appropriate
  • Identify and prioritize opportunities that continuously optimize equipment life cycles and availability
  • Manage change through defined processes ensuring process safety objectives are met 
  • Develop and implement equipment reliability strategies for increased asset availability
  • Decide & set appropriate maintenance event/turnaround work scopes for equipment while optimizing cost, availability, and risk 
  • Assist in complex critical equipment troubleshooting and decide on scope of repair 
  • Analyze maintenance and capital spending to ensure consistency with the investment strategies within the business and industry benchmarks

The Experience You Will Bring

Requirements:

  • Experience with equipment reliability, assessment, and troubleshoot/diagnose support (RCFA)
  • Experience with project support in framing opportunities to improve equipment utilization or availability
  • Experience in industrial, water/wastewater or equipment engineering industry

What Will Put You Ahead

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Chemical or Civil Engineering
  • Experience in reliability engineering with manufacturing equipment
  • Four (4) years or more of work experience in an industrial setting
