Hourly Production Leader

Georgia-Pacific is seeking an Hourly Production Leader in our Gypsum plant in Newington, NH. The Hourly Production Lead will focus on safely improving productivity and developing operator knowledge and skill improvements while holding employee accountability. A successful candidate will coordinate and assist the production team in efforts that result in sustained improvement in all associated work processes including Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) compliance, reliability, quality, production, and cost. They will work with plant leadership to align and optimize the operation to deliver maximum value to the business while facilitating team and employee development, problem-solving and issue resolution. 

This position will operate on 12 hour shifts that include weekends, holidays, overtime, and rotating shifts.

What You Will Do In Your Role

  • Assist the Production Team with assigning and directing work, addressing complaints, and resolving issues. 
  • Troubleshoot and resolve production issues.
  • Complete all paperwork and analysis in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Participate in Operational Excellence efforts in the areas of production efficiencies, product yield, operating costs, and product quality.
  • Be responsible for assisting in the training and development of new hires. 
  • Contribute to the Newington Plant exceeding site goals including EHS, productivity, quality, and cost. 

The Experience You Will Bring


  • Must have a basic working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel, and the ability to learn various PC-based production reporting applications 
  • Must be able and willing to work any shift schedule. Schedule will include day, night, weekend, and holiday work hours.
  • Must make working safely the top priority, follow all plant safety policies, and enforce safe work practices. 
  • Demonstrated history of meeting or exceeding expectations in current role 
  • Demonstrated knowledge of plant operations

  • 4 Years Gypsum industry experience preferred
