Transformation Work Stream Leader

Georgia-Pacific has an exciting opportunity for a Work Stream Leader to join our operations at the Wauna mill in Clatskanie, OR. They will provide leadership and strategic direction to drive waste reduction and elimination to advance our vision to create the greatest value from implementing sustainable practices to achieve and maintain performance across the mill. Collaborate across the enterprise to ensure the best tools and technology available considered, trialed, and continually adjusted to uncover virtual cycles of mutual benefit. Ensure the organization engages in a process of rapid action with accountability to capture maximum value in areas of the greatest potential at any given point in time to achieve our maximum potential. Grow the capabilities of personnel throughout the mill to successfully meet our improvement targets. 

What You Will Do In Your Role

  • Responsibility Mill wide for leading waste reduction efforts reporting to the Transformation Leader.
  • Achieve rapid results by leveraging the competitive advantages of our people (daily management system), our processes (process center-lining, playbook, and other mental models) and our technologies (sensors, process monitoring, PI). Sustain these results over the long-term by ensuring technology and management systems are in place independent of individual dependency.
  • Work with site, other mills, and corporate teams to define and execute the greatest waste reduction opportunities and collaborate with internal and external preferred partners for successful execution of our strategic goals
  • Provide leadership for the mill’s operations capability working with the mill’s Transformation Leader, Financial Analysis Leader, Business Leaders, Department Leaders, Hourly and Salary personnel, and other Work Stream Leaders.
  • Be able to partner effectively with the other Work Stream Leaders (Productivity, Disciplined Operations, Sourcing) and their organizations to implement strategic efforts in support of achieving the greatest value

The Experience You Will Bring

Requirements:

  • Five (5) or more years of experience in a manufacturing environment in a leadership role with responsibility for development of salaried or hourly personnel.
  • Knowledge of work execution processes for projects with a demonstrated history of success in realizing targeted objectives.
  • Experience influencing others through successful organizational skills (meetings, action registers, follow through and accountability).
  • Experience engaging employees at all various levels of an organization to create a collaborative environment 
  • Demonstrated performance with successfully sharing knowledge across an enterprise. 

What Will Put You Ahead

  • Experience successfully leading and managing in an MBM® organization.
  • Experience coordinating resources in a complex manufacturing environment with a record of demonstrated success towards achieving organizational goals.
  • Five (5) years or more of experience influencing decision making in a collaborative operations process with alignment on what, who, and by when defined and agreed upon with the stakeholders.
  • Experience in the Pulp and Paper industry with understanding of where the greatest opportunities reside in regards to Direct and In-Direct Spend waste.
