HR Business Associate



Georgia Pacific Monticello’s Human Resources team is seeking a highly motivated HR Business Associate to join our global business based in Monticello, MS. In this position you will work closely with our internal customers to ensure HR programs and services support and drive business objectives. The selected individual will engage in all aspects of human resources, be able to build strong internal business partnerships, provide coaching, and offer creative solutions to business issues. This position will work closely with the HR Site Manager and an experienced HR Business Partner to support their customers while having the opportunity to learn a variety of aspects of HR and work in partnership will all levels of the organization. 

What You Will Do In Your Role

Provide day-to-day HR support to leaders in functional areas including, but not limited to talent management, compensation, compliance, disciplinary action, and career development. Serve as a contact for employees; respond to questions regarding HR related topics including but not limited to the Infor myHR system, personnel information, and interpretation of HR policies and procedures. Coach leaders in proper application of the MBM® compensation philosophy and practices. Stay informed of true, real-time market alternatives for workforce. Provide research, analysis, and data to assist in effective decision making. Bring forth new and innovative ideas to improve or resolve HR processes or issues. Facilitate approvals utilizing KRONOS (time entry system) for payroll. Coach supervisors and managers on policies, guidelines and initiative. Stay connected with the needs of the people by being visible and regularly interacting with all personnel. Coach and counsel managers on maintaining positive employee relations for a wide range of issues. Assist in hiring and onboarding of new employees. 

The Experience You Will Bring


  • Experience in Human Resources, preferably as a HR Business Partner 
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office suite of products (i.e., Word, Excel, Teams) 
  • Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field 
  • Advanced PC skills to include extensive and strong use of Excel and other programs (Windows, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint) 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including active, engaged listening 
  • Exceptional customer service skills and ability to work independently 
  • Must demonstrate trustworthiness, confidentiality, initiative, and flexibility 
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills 
  • Available for outside company travel during college recruiting season 
  • Willingness to work extra hours, weekends and holidays as needed 

What Will Put You Ahead

  • PHR or SHRM-CP Certification 
  • Manufacturing experience 
  • KRONOS (time entry system) experience 
  • Experience in Infor myHR system or similar HRIS system
