Mechanical Production Leader

What You Will Do In Your Role

As a member of the refinery’s Maintenance team, the Mechanical Production Leader is responsible for the supervision, mentoring, training & development of craftspeople. Daily tasks to include, but not limited to: coaching, mentoring, conducting feedback summaries, developing capabilities, conducting refining skills training and staying current with administrative duties.

Environmental, health and safety goal attainment for the team is the responsibility of the Mechanical Production Leader. Actions to include, but not limited to: team safety plan oversight, engaging group in total safety culture, holding employees accountable for completed work while following specs, standards and procedures attaining 10,000% compliance and being accountable for the housekeeping of the group’s work area.

As the Mechanical Production Leader, you will have ownership of the group’s overall achievement of the refinery vision. The role has oversight of the team’s daily and weekly work schedule and is responsible for maintaining open communication (updates & feedback) with the production team.

You will be involved in Initial Learning summaries and own the team’s strategic improvement initiatives. You will become proficient in maintenance management software (INFOR). You will own, manage, and execute multiple special projects in addition to the front-line supervisor (FLS) roles. Furthermore, you will provide backup coverage for the other Maintenance Supervisors when on vacations, at training, during Turnarounds, etc.

The ideal candidate for this role is someone who can develop relationships with operations, thrives in a true team environment, can drive change, demonstrates strong collaboration skills, effectively communicates with all levels of management, and who values the importance of staying current with technology, codes, and compliance.

The Experience You Will Bring

Basic Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Proficient computer skills including: Microsoft Word, Excel, Office 365 and ability to adapt with company applications
  • 1+ years of experience in rotating equipment, machinery overhauls, reliability engineering.
  • Effectively lead through change
  • Ability and commitment to work turnaround schedules

What Will Put You Ahead

  • Work experience & skills with construction, field maintenance, and project management
  • Previous work experience with field maintenance
  • Prior front line supervisor experience in an industrial setting.
