Product Development Manager



Invista is seeking a Product Development Manager in Longview, Texas to lead and support our fast-growing polypropylene business. We strive to be a solution provider to our customers by continually innovating our products and applications.

As a leading producer of polypropylene, at Invista we leverage advanced polymerization technology, robust on-site compounding capabilities, and the strength of our supply chain to deliver high-quality polypropylene in a variety of 100 different grades for applications of all sizes. Our polypropylene is utilized for a number of fabrication processes including extrusion, injection molding, thermoforming, blow molding, biaxially oriented film, fiber spinning, slit tape, extrusion coating and laminating. With a wide range of physical properties, it’s a flexible, attractive material capable of meeting performance demands of medical applicationsfood and specialty packaging, and more. What You Will Do In Your Role

  • Manage the product development and technical service team and ensure everyone is connected to our transformative business vision
  • Create a highly collaborative environment within your team and the organization to increase contribution and value creation
  • Drive product and application innovation for the business
  • Own the product technical information provided to our customers
  • Lead the research for new catalysts systems and polymer additives
  • Sponsor projects to improve manufacturing capability to make new products
  • Develop relationships with key customers to grow our niche business
  • Own the product and customer specification system
  • Support marketing initiatives with technical value creation 

The Experience You Will Bring


  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering or chemistry
  • Ten (10) or more years’ experience in the plastic industry and leadership experience

  • Experience with polypropylene product development, technical service or manufacturing
