Automation Precision Technician

We are seeking to place qualified applicants into the role of site Automation Technician supporting the operation of Automated Guided Vehicles (AGVs) for the Muskogee, Ok facility. These positions will be working in a dynamic work team and will report directly to the Muskogee Logistics Manufacturing Engineer/Automation Owner. The positions will be considered hourly. 

The shift is Monday - Friday 7:00 am - 3:00 pm 

What You Will Do In Your Role

  • Collaboration across our manufacturing footprint to solve problems as a key member of the company's transformation and automation initiatives, maximizing uptime of automated guide vehicle (AGV) fleet
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair electrical issues including but not limited to PLCs, HMIs, wiring, relays, servos, lithium batteries, safety devices, sensors, and other electrical components, managing work orders and various other tasks assigned by leadership
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair mechanical issues including but not limited to hydraulics, drive components, frame, gears, chains, sprockets, and wheels
  • Complete regularly scheduled Preventive Maintenance (PM’s) on time and per AGV asset strategies
  • Perform corrective and unscheduled maintenance as needed – including Root Cause Analysis
  • Effectively perform supplemental training for site operation technicians
  • Use tools and data to predict when maintenance is needed
  • Ensure Asset Strategies are being executed and provide feedback to AGV Platform when changes are needed
  • Track issues/repairs and utilize escalation process via SAP or similar tools
  • Provide safe troubleshooting and handling of disabled AGV’s, towing them to maintenance shop when necessary
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • When needed, ability to work overtime, weekends, and holidays primarily but not limited to the start-up phase of AGVs  
  • Must be able to travel for training and to cover other mills when needed

The Experience You Will Bring


  • High School Diploma or GED
  • One of the following:
    • Associate or Technical degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Systems, Instrumentation, or Electronic Technology
    • At least two (2) years of electrical/electronic/control troubleshooting experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience with PLC systems integration experience, including Basic PLC programming logic and troubleshooting equipment while online with the PLC
  • Experience in  electrical and mechanical motors, drivers, belts, and bearings
  • Must be able to travel as needed 
  • Experience reading and following electrical and maintenance schematics/blueprint

What Will Put You Ahead

  • Experience in Advanced PLC knowledge and PLC programming
  • Experience in maintenance of Automated Guided Vehicles
  • Certification in Robotics Technologies
  • Experience maintaining AGV’s 
  • Experience with Root Cause Analysis
  • Experience with setup of automated systems utilizing programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and instrumentation principals
  • Experience in one of the following troubleshooting: Allen-Bradley (A-B) Guard-Logix or A-B Control-Logix PLC’s
