Join INVISTA as a Site Operations Manager reporting to the Plant Manager as the person primarily responsible for leading the safe, compliant, and reliable operation of the various operating units, as well as improve operations practices to increase reliability and efficiency of operations, and finally, lead continuous improvement in the maintenance and operations organizations.

What You Will Do In Your Role

  • As a member of the Site Leadership Team, ensure the safe operations of the manufacturing unit in accordance with the MBM Guiding Principles and the INVISTA Risk Management Profile Effectively lead and manage a leadership team consisting of four Operations Front Line Supervisors in all aspects of safety compliance, and operating excellence. 

  • Establish clear performance expectations, monitor, and provide continuous feedback to promote team / individual development and growth 

  • Provide leadership to continue the transformation of the culture to align with MBM® and the INVISTA Vision whereby every employee is an owner and Principled Entrepreneur ™ in their role driving and embracing change (Shift Runs the Shift) 

  • Provide operations leadership to develop strategies to achieve continuous performance improvements in Operations Excellence - EHS, Compliance, Reliability, Efficiency and Capital Effectiveness with accountability for performance 

  • Support the development and execution of economic driven site “5-year bet” strategies incorporating innovation and continuous improvement that leverages site capabilities resulting in sustaining value creation for the business 

  • Quickly assess performance or capability gaps and take corrective action 

  • Develop a solid working knowledge of utilities and wastewater area resources, equipment and process performance to provide site guidance 

  • Maintain awareness of procedures, work practices, equipment availability, risks and potential interrupters in all production areas 

  • Identify and correct unsafe conditions and acts; recognize positive safety performance as well as individual and team contributions to a safer workplace 

  • Apply Market Based Management to get better results. Mentor the organization to apply Market Based Management based thinking 

  • Employ positive, strong verbal / written communication and interpersonal skills in working with various levels of the organization. (engineers, supervisors, operators, maintenance, and contractors) 

  • Effectively communicate progress, plans and issues with site operations leadership and the commercial business team as required 

  • Effectively communicate operational issues that are, or will, potentially affect the production areas 

  • Actively support meeting daily goals through good analysis, critical thinking skills and resource allocation 

  • Organize, prioritize and multi-task while meeting and/or exceeding deadlines  

The Experience You Will Bring


  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in manufacturing / industrial experience or related military experience 

  • Minimum of 5 years’ leadership experience directing the activities of others in a manufacturing / industrial environment or related military environment 

  • Experience with Process Safety Management (PSM) and working knowledge of OSHA safety standards  

What Will Put You Ahead

  • Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering , Mechanical Engineering, or Business Management 

  • Minimum of 10 years’ supervisory experience within a manufacturing / industrial / refining or large continuous chemical plant operations or related military environment leading teams of 20 or more 

  • Experience in (RCA) root cause analysis techniques or other similar problem solving systems
