Production Supervisor

Description

The Molding Supervisor will have overall responsibility of planning, organizing and coordinating plant Molding activities. This position reports to the Molding Manager. 

What You Will Do In Your Role

  • Assist Molding Manager with developing and providing input on Molding requirements needed to determine the total labor and gross margin for a customer’s order
  • Interface with other departments to ensure customer order deadlines are met
  • Create detailed schedule timelines to ensure customer shipment dates and equipment specifications are met
  • Assist Molding Manager in developing a process plan including people, resources, equipment, and floor space for each customer order
  • Plan flow of materials through department
  • Establish or adjust work procedures to meet production schedules
  • Develop and implement new and/or improved systems and procedures
  • Maintain time and production records
  • Estimate, requisition and inspect materials
  • Report machine and equipment malfunctions to maintenance personnel
  • Interpret company policies to associates and enforce safety regulations

The Experience You Will Bring

Requirements:

  • 3 or more years of experience in a manufacturing environment
  • At least 1 year of leadership experience 
  • Demonstrated ability to drive continuous improvement

What Will Put You Ahead

  • Molding process background 
  • Experience in automotive manufacturing 
  • Associate's degree or higher in engineering or related to business/leadership 
  • Proficiency in and the ability to model and implement the following concepts: empowerment and teamwork; kaizen; standardized work; PDCA and problem solving; 5S; quality improvement tools; JIT production tools including Value Stream Mapping, lead-time reduction, process flow improvement, and Kanban
  • Knowledge of TS-16949
