Containerboard Divisional Quality Director

Georgia-Pacific’s Continuous Manufacturing Group (CMG) is seeking an experienced Quality Director to support our Containerboard Operations team. As a member of the CMG Quality & Commercialization team, the Quality Director for Containerboard partners with the operations and commercial teams to ensure we produce and deliver quality White Top Linerboard and Kraft Linerboard and Medium across multiple manufacturing operations within the Southeast and Pacific Northwest that meets our customer’s needs.

What You Will Do In Your Role

  • Foster quality culture building quality capability across the organization to drive customer satisfaction. 
  • Use Voice of Customer (VoC) feedback to drive understanding of customers’ current and future needs and improve the Customer Experience. Ensure VoC is driven to shop floor. 
  • Lead product specification alignment between the VoC and VoP. 
  • Build collaborative relationships with internal and external customers. Assure customer communications are timely and robust. 
  • Apply Operational Excellence Strategy and Market Based Management® (MBM®) Principles for managing continuous improvement of Quality Systems and Processes leading to product improvement. 
  • Assist facilities with root cause and corrective action process, providing timely resolutions to customer inquiries, feedback investigations, and corrective actions. 
  • Participate in quality audit process of other facilities and warehouses. 
  • Encourage and ensure knowledge share across facilities and areas. 
  • Provide coaching and development to facility Quality Managers/Teams 

The Experience You Will Bring


  • Bachelor of Science degree or higher 
  • 5 or more years of experience managing quality and process improvements within a manufacturing environment. 
  • Experience communicating and influencing leaders to create value and eliminate waste 
  • Experience of using statistical tools for data analysis 
  • Root cause analysis and cause mapping experience. 
  • Experience building and managing customer relations 
  • Maintain strict adherence to safety rules, CBT training, and compliance regulations. 
  • Experience with Microsoft Office 2010 including Excel (creating macros and pivot tables), Word (creating and editing documents), PowerPoint (creating and editing presentations) 
  • Must be able to travel up to 75% to address operations and customer needs (primarily domestic with possibility for international)

What Will Put You Ahead

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering or Pulp and Paper Science 
  • Experience working within the Pulp and Paper industry
  • Experiences working within a Containerboard/Corrugated operation
  • Disciplined Operations experience 
  • Previous experience managing multi-facility quality 
  • Lead Auditor Certification 
  • Experience with the GFSI/ISO process

The actual amount may be higher or lower than the range provided considering each candidate’s knowledge, skills, abilities, and geographic location. For this role, we anticipate paying $100,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year. This role is eligible for variable pay, issued as a monetary bonus or in another form.
