Flint Hills Resources, a Koch Industries Company, is seeking a Software Developer to join our Platform Operations capability within our team specialized in leveraged IT development platforms and IT tools.

This Software Developer will play a hybrid role, blending elements of software development and application management with the responsibilities of a Product Owner to support and modernize IT platforms and tools critical to building reliable application architectures. Platform Operations SDs work jointly with IT Product Support teams, Product Software Engineers, Solutions Architects, and Data Architects to provide support and on-going development of existing development platforms, develop, or deploy new applications and IT tools, and support experimentation with new technologies that enable FHR’s digital transformation vision.

  • Partner with Flint Hills Resources’ IT Solutions Architects, Data Architects, and Product Software Engineers in execution and support of new projects for development platforms, data platforms, functions as a service, and shared IT tools. These may involve new or existing technology, will require working with IT to understand functional requirements of the system to ensure its long-term reliability.
  • Respond to incidents and unplanned events while participating in an after-hours on-call rotation for platforms which are required to operate 24/7.
  • Support base IT functions as needed: executing pre and post steps for maintenance such as patching, escalating issues with 3rd party vendors, troubleshooting issues directly with our customers, managing the overall cost and performance expectations of the platforms.

  • 2+ years’ experience in the deployment and on-going management of software applications in an enterprise environment
  • Familiarity with the overall IT technology stack (Ex. Networks, Firewalls, Identity Services, Windows and Linux OS administrative tasks)

What Will Put You Ahead:

  • Prior experience working in and supporting platforms such as Automic, Dell Boomi, Informatica, and Azure DevOps

  • Experience with customer and 3rd party facing interactions (backlog management, roadmap management, customer engagement activities, representing long and short-term gaps in discussions with 3rd parties)
  • Experience with modern application development (Inheritance/polymorphism in support of scalable design, concurrency and asynchronous systems, REST interfaces)
  • Familiarity with software development lifecycle – CI/CD, GIT, and Azure DevOps
  • Experience with the development of real-time systems and solutions at the edge and strategies to support rapid deployment and a scalable support model
