Senior Procurement Manager


Georgia-Pacific is seeking a Sr. Procurement Manager to join our organization reporting to the Director of Procurement Transformation. This role will help to establish, develop, and maintain a strategic view and drive transformation to improve our competitive position for our internal customers, Category and Procurement Operations through management of key projects and initiatives. This role is based out of Atlanta, GA. 

What You Will Do In Your Role

  • Assess current tactical work in the requisition to pay process across all procurement, identify alternatives to minimize, reduce, automate, centralize and/or outsource.
  • Drive and support the creation of business cases including cost/benefit/risk analysis for process and/or technology changes and provide a recommended solution.
  • Develop, maintain and execute vision and strategies to improve the competitive position of Procurement.
  • Partner with our business process team and implement standard buying channels and PO structures aligned by AST sprint calendar
  • Manage governance process holistically for procurement operations, including our third party service provider (i.e., KPIs, contract adherence, etc.)
  • Collaborate with customer and other capabilities to seek innovative approaches to address problems, improve existing processes and to develop better strategies.
  • Work with internal customers to identify and problem solve current opportunities that align with procurement and business unit goals to deliver long term value.
  • Own and drive key collaborative and cross-functional projects and initiatives through Category and Operations.
  • Drive strategy and process improvement throughout the procurement execution process working with field and centralized buying capability to improve service to our customers.
  • Collaborate with category teams to execute sourcing strategies and long-term strategy adherence
  • Apply strong communication skills including excellent active listening skills in a cross functional environment.

The Experience You Will Bring


  • 5+ years of Supply Chain, Procurement, Sourcing, Engineering or Finance experience
  • Knowledge of the procure to pay process
  • Solid understanding of data elements, data analytics and data insights
  • Able to travel up to 15%

  • MS Office Experience with intermediate skills in Excel and proficient skills in PowerPoint and Word
