Manufacturing Quality Engineer


Georgia-Pacific is seeking a Manufacturing Quality Engineer to work at our Neenah Technical Center in Neenah, WI. Our Neenah Technical Center® is the central site for research, development, and lab services for Georgia-Pacific North American Consumer Products division. The research and development areas include Commercial and Retail towels, tissues, napkins and dispensers, Dixie® products and process development. This position is responsible for ensuring that electromechanical devices are manufactured to specification for our Consumer Products Business. This is an exciting opportunity to influence and shape the future of the Commercialization and Quality Team!

What You Will Do In Your Role

  • Drive expectations and engage contract manufacturers to deliver devices on time and within specification
  • Validate parts and assemblies, which includes developing an approval plan and timeline, coordinating metrology, resolving non-conformances, and approving PPAPs
  • Lead DFMA and FMEAs with design engineers and contract manufacturers
  • Propose and implement Quality principles and practices that elevate the effectiveness of the Commercialization and Quality Team
  • Troubleshoot root causes of systemic device problems in the marketplace
  • Work with a variety of processes including injection molding, stamping, and inline testing for electromechanical devices
  • Collaborate with Business, Sourcing, Customer Service, and Sales teams to implement process improvements

The Experience You Will Bring


  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in an engineering discipline
  • Three (3) or more years’ experience working in a manufacturing, quality, or engineering role
  • Able to travel up to 20% of the time including occasional international travel
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel – sorting data, creating tables and graphs; Outlook – scheduling; Word – document creating/editing; and PowerPoint – presentation creating/editing

What Will Put You Ahead

  • Degree in Electrical, Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering
  • Seven (7) or more years’ experience working in a manufacturing, quality, or engineering role
  • Experience with AIAG processes (APQP, PPAP, FMEA, etc.)
  • Experience managing external supplier quality
  • Experience working with mechanical and electromechanical devices
  • Experience with injection molding and tooling
  • Experience with inline testers and end-of-line testers
  • ASQ Certification(s)
  • Six Sigma Black Belt Certification
  • Experience with quality principles and methods
