Outage Coordinator/Planner (Paper Machines)

Georgia-Pacific’s Continuous Manufacturing Group is seeking a qualified Outage Coordinator/Planner (Paper Machines) to join our containerboard mill in Cedar Springs, Georgia.  The Outage Coordinator/Planner will enhance the maintenance and operations of the front end (paper machines, recycling, and finishing/shipping areas) of the mill. As well as manage the development and execution of the outage plan with defined goals and objectives. This position reports to the Front-End Maintenance Leader and works closely with Maintenance Supervisors and Planners, Craftspeople, Engineering, Reliability, Operations, and Contractors.  Long-term value is created through the application of the company’s business philosophy of Market Based Management and Georgia-Pacific’s Guiding Principles.

What You Will Do In Your Role

  • Verify compliance goals for safety and environmental performance
  • Establish a set of planning guidelines and metrics
  • Develop and execute the T- Minus Plan for outage preparation
  • Develop and execute the shutdown, execution, and Event Free Start Up Plans for Outages
  • Manage milestones and ensure deliverables are being met
  • Develop Outage meeting cadence and facilitate outage meetings with the areas and mill wide
  • Influence peers and hold individuals accountable
  • Make critical decisions, problem solve, and apply economic thinking
  • Utilize strong networking and interpersonal skills
  • Facilitate utilizing strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Utilize collaboration and negotiation skills

 

The Experience You Will Bring

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Five (5) years of industrial manufacturing experience with planning and coordinating outages or managing large projects
  • Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS)
  • Experience with Microsoft Project, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel

 

What Will Put You Ahead

  • Bachelor’s degree (BS) in Engineering or Construction Management 
  • Seven (7) or more years of experience planning and coordinating outages or managing large projects in the pulp and paper industry
  • Experience with the Passport Asset Suite CMMS system
  • Certified Maintenance Reliability Professional (CMRP) certification
  • Experience with Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM), Root Cause Analysis (RCA), and Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA)


The Cedar Springs facility is one of the largest containerboard facilities in the country with 3 paper machines that make different weights of brown paper & containerboard paper.
