Guardian Industries is seeking you to become our next Business Director in Troy, MI!

This is an exciting opportunity for a strategic thinker who can manage a team, think creatively, and build meaningful relationships to manage and grow one or more customer accounts long-term.

What You Will Do In Your Role

Customer Strategy

  • Manage a global team located in North America and Europe.
  • Build a dynamic cohesive team that is goal oriented and aligned with the company vision
  • Develop and implement strategic sales plans for a specific customer or group of customers in accordance with corporate goals and product direction
  • Responsible for the direction of the customer account and for leading team presentations to Sr. Management.
  • Utilize corporate resources and external sources to perform market analysis regarding vehicle production, future products, and styling trends, and use this analysis as the foundation of customer strategy and growth plan generation
  • Lead the account profitability analysis activity to ensure sustainable account financial performance
  • Conduct data analysis of customer trends and costs, estimated, and realized revenue relative to assigned accounts leading to development of price targets in line with current market conditions to maximize profit

Relationship Management

  • Utilize MBM principles to understand and execute your Role as a Supervisor of a Global Team
  • Manage the overall customer relationship and be responsible to deepen customer relationships in purchasing, engineering, styling and other relevant customer functions
  • Pursue new opportunities and communicate with customers on existing and future programs
  • Interface with customer purchasing, design, engineering, and quality personnel to achieve a balance between the company’s and customer’s expectations

Account Coordination

  • Provide direction to the team as they negotiate and implement pricing for customer programs
  • Coordinate with global counterparts on the development and implementation of the customer/product strategy
  • Interact with management team and manufacturing operations on cost and pricing issues
  • Communicate effectively with manufacturing facilities to resolve open issues to normal business activities
  • Create measures to demonstrate waste reduction
  • This position will require 10-15% travel

The Experience You Will Bring

Requirements:

  • Management/Supervisory experience 
  • Experience developing and implementing a growth strategy
  • Experience with corporate account management
  • Experience using critical economic thinking and analysis for business opportunities
  • Sales experience within the automotive sector

What Will Put You Ahead

  • Bachelor’s or Master's Degree in Engineering, Business, Finance or Marketing 
  • Experience working with a Ford account
