An IMDS/Product Stewardship SME would be responsible for oversight and transformation of the use of the International Material Data System (IMDS) and stewardship of materials used throughout the lifecycle of SRG Global products. This includes gaining knowledge on the chemistry of our parts and raw materials as well as understanding market and regulatory expectations on the use of chemical materials in finished goods and throughout the supply chain. This individual will partner with many capabilities along the value chain including the enterprise Stewardship capability, strategic sourcing, engineering, innovation, and external customers to drive bottom-up solutions creating value for both the business and our customers.

    What You Will Do In Your Role

    • Interaction across a wide range of capabilities and with customers/suppliers, knows or is willing to establish networks in the site/business and with peers to share knowledge
    • Be the key IMDS support person for global plant resources and be the primary source for answering questions regarding creation and submissions of data
    • Maintains library of active training materials and conduct future IMDS internal training as required
    • Responsible for review and Accept/Reject decisions on received supplier data
    • Drafts responses to customer information requests (using various tools including the IMDS A2 desktop software)
    • Maintains library of data rules in IMDS A2 as appropriate for SRG Global to audit data prior to submitting to customers and to verify use of data structure best practices
    • Supports responsible stewardship of chemicals and materials by gaining SME knowledge the materials and chemicals used by SRG Global. Monitors emerging global market and regulatory chemical expectations and assesses impact for SRG Global
    • Communication and facilitation of material change management with support of a cross-functional team across value chain as needed
    • Product stewardship technical support is provided to support business needs for product changes and other key business initiatives. These opportunities are leveraged to develop capability within the Guardian business where possible.
    • Acts as primary point of contact for SRG Global with Guardian Industries & Koch Stewardship capabilities
    • Participates as a CFT member for projects substituting chemistries and materials with alternatives as required
    • Functions as primary point of contact for AIAG IMDS Working Committee and others as relevant

    The Experience You Will Bring


    • Knowledge of working with systems and can help the business find automated solutions to support digital transformation
    • Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint
    • Must be fluent in English 

    What Will Put You Ahead

    • Experience with IMDS preferred
    • Experience with Microsoft Teams preferred
    • A Bachelor’s Degree is preferred in materials engineering or chemistry
