Engineer, MIE


As we build our Chengdu Transportation Solutions Business Unit staff, we are looking for talented candidates for the (MIE) Manufacturing Integration Engineer group. Technical background would greatly help on this role though, still you do NOT have to be the technical expert to apply. We have a successful history of developing people from operations, assembly, quality and process so do not let your current position prevent you from taking on this healthy secure challenge. But no matter what your background and obtained experience, we expect you to be strongly engaged in effective communication and depth into daily work, always think about what can I do for my team and where can I(we) improve. 

The MIE has many responsibilities, but the foundation is to assure all technical resources have the information they need to perform strong feasibility reviews and provide quote inputs, develop competitive manufacturing solutions that customers preferred and deliver excellent processes to our organization. 

What You Will Do In Your Role

  • Provide coordination and leadership for the technical resources, assuring they hear what is needed and have a voice back to the product development team, engineering and the customer.  
  • Responsible for leading the technical team through feasibilities and building the manufacturing quote summary based on inputs from the technical teams. 
  • Partner with procurement, quality, and product engineering to strengthen the technical success opportunities. 
  • Be an advocate for both the design and manufacturing groups. Facilitate strong compromise and success for all. 
  • Prepare phase reviews and be the face and voice of the technical team members by presenting to the management team, being humility to challenges and feedbacks. 
  • Lead the technical resources in investigations, discovery and solving of manufacturing problems. 
  • Requires some global travel to codevelop product designs and discover process improvement opportunities. 
  • Perform other related duties as needed.

The Experience You Will Bring


  • Bachelor’s degree in Science Engineering or equivalent, and above. 
  • 2 years+ experience with new product/process development, or direct exposure to process trouble shooting, continuous improvement and a working knowledge of quality tools.
  • Knowledge on Lean/Six sigma is a plus.
  • Strong integrity and virtues with the strength to face difficult situations with transparency and a sense of urgency.
  • Energized to help solve problems through providing your technical teams with the necessary information and lead them through the process for a long-term solution. 
  • Effective interpersonal skills at all levels of the organization.
  • Good decision-making ability even if not the expert. Use fact-based information to drive these decisions. 
  • Help drive change and be accepting of change with an entrepreneurial mentality.
  • Strong communication and presence in meetings.
