Mechanical Engineer Leader

What You Will Do In Your Role

Lead and manage a team of Engineers to improve asset reliability and maintenance practices at various sites across the company. In this role you will be both Coach and Player.

  • Lead the identification, prioritization, and mitigation of key equipment risks and processes at the mill sites and assign resources accordingly based on highest value opportunities.
  • Utilizing a Best Practice and Systematic approach to identifying, prioritizing, and closing asset reliability gaps
  • Build and execute a reliability capability that delivers maximum, long-term value to the organization
  • Coach, Mentor and develop site talent to improve asset Reliability capability through the application of reliability Best Practices
  • Proactively share knowledge and collaborate with capabilities at the corporate, business unit, and site level to ensure the best knowledge is included in decision making
  • Conduct Root Cause Analysis as needed and make recommendations for corrective actions
  • Managing Small Projects at the sites
  • Leading Outage Management Initiatives and providing outage support to the mill sites
Knowledge & Skills:
  • Demonstrated ability to lead a team and improve the results of an operation
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety and regulatory compliance results
  • Demonstrated leadership in improving manufacturing and reliability/maintenance results
  • Systematic approach to identifying, prioritizing, and closing identified reliability gaps
  • Working knowledge of risk assessment and mitigation, including Potential Problem Analysis (PPA
  • Strong communication (written and verbal), organizational, and planning/scheduling/execution skills
  • Project Management skills
  • Working knowledge of risk assessment and mitigation, including Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA)
  • Experienced in Outage Work Processes and outage management experience

The Experience You Will Bring

Requirements:

  • Mechanical Engineering degree preferred
  • Minimum of 8 years manufacturing and reliability experience
  • Industrial maintenance experience preferred
  • Manufacturing/industrial supervisory experience
  • Experience with implementing reliability tools.
  • PC skills with MS Word, Excel, Outlook and Power Point and capable of quickly learning new software programs
