Manufacturing Advancement & Analytics Placement Student

INVISTA's Gloucester site looking for a motivated and entrepreneurial placement student, keen to work on manufacturing advancement and automation, to join the Operations Performance Fibres Team in summer 2022 for 12 months. Our plant is dedicated to the production of quality products used in the automotive airbag industry.
What You Will Do In Your Role
You will have the opportunity to create real value by driving improvements on existing assets to improve yield, quality, reliability, and efficiency. You will work collaboratively with the site operations and engineering teams to identify, design, and Implement solutions for improving asset performance.
Previous intern’s projects have included:
- Advancing digitisation strategies to modernise manufacturing processes across Asian, European and North American facilities. Employing emerging technologies in autonomous systems, analytics and robotics; such as camera/image analysis, co-bots, Raspberry Pi type technologies and microcontrollers.
- Applying cutting edge data analytics to dictate optimised process parameters. Performing design of experiment studies to verify statistical models.
- Design, development and installation of an automated transport system involving elements of engineering drawing, interacting with contractors and financial project assessments.
Throughout the placement you will be supported by your supervisor, the operations and engineering teams, the Koch Market Based Management® culture and have opportunities for industrial training to propel forward your own professional development.
