Quality Control Technician

Description

The Q.C. Technician will work with various Molding Department employees as well as external customers and other Molex entities. At various times, the Quality Technician will work with cross functional teams in Lincoln and other Molex entities. Responsible to lead or support quality improvement initiatives within the Molding Department.

What You Will Do In Your Role

  1. Leadership role on 8D/corrective action teams. 
  2. Facilitate effective closure of customer complaints with the use of 8Ds in a timely manner 
  3. Verify and validate effectiveness of corrective actions
  4. Responsible for coordinating, tracking, and completing PAP and PPAP:
    • Complete requests per a customer request date
    • Maintain existing PAPs or PPAPs to customer requirements
  5. Responsible for tracking of tooling qualification. Including working closely with First Piece department with submitting and expediting requests and measurement issues.
  6. Understanding of the operation of the SAP program for product handling 
  7. Understanding of the molding process and the functional aspects of the products produced 
  8. Working knowledge of the Quality Management Systems 
  9. Working knowledge of SPC or other statistical methods 
  10. Proactive in the development of customer quality assurance in the unit 
  11. Support the quality and safety culture

The Experience You Will Bring

Requirements:

  1. High school diploma/GED OR 3+ years' QC Inspection experience
  2. Effective inter-personal skills, including good communication skills (written and oral)
  3. Sound decision making, problem solving, and planning skills
  4.  Ability to lead and work in a team environment
  5. Experience with SAP and Microsoft Office Suite 
  6. Good time management skills
  7. Ability to lift and move up to 30 pounds 

What Will Put You Ahead

  1. Associate Degree in a STEM field
  2. Experience with problem-solving methodologies
  3.  Knowledge of problem-solving tools (8D, Ishikawa diagrams, 5 Why, FMEA)
  4. Knowledge of or auditing experience with IATF and/or ISO 9001 standards
