AQP Engineer 

Advanced Quality Planning Engineer supporting the new product design center. Facilitate the Advance Quality Planning tools, manage and mitigate project risk, manage customer initial requirements, audit NPI projects , early involvement/ collaboration with final manufacturing location, facilitate training, share best practices/ lessons learned, NPI complaint investigation: collect all documents and in-process records, post mortem review, ensure effective implementation of control plan for NPI shipments, supplier development and management, facilitate closed-loop improvement in Product Development Process, qualify process at NPI facility and at production location, manage first trial runs at customer (CM)

What You Will Do In Your Role

  • Facilitates and provides expertise in the development of FMEA's, Control Plans, Qualification Plans, etc., in new product development and product changes
  • Performs statistical analysis for the qualification, control, and continuous improvement of processes, products, and equipment for electromechanical components and systems
  • Develops Quality System for new products and product changes including the development of inspection methods, inspection equipment, and inspection frequency
  • Completes customer required documentation relating to customer acceptance of new products and product changes
  • Reviews and approves supplier documentation on new and revised purchased components
  • Provides technical support, documentation and guidance on new products to New Product Introduction Assembly Department, inspection lab and manufacturing plants.
  • Leads development team in finding root cause and developing corrective action for New Product QNs and supports efforts for systemic improvements of AQP Processes to reduce New Products QNs
  • Understand, support and contribute to current Molex Total Quality Management (TQM), Six Sigma, International Standards Organization (ISO) and Environmental, and/or Health and Safety (EH&S) Management Systems by following stated policies and procedures


SCOPE: Develops Quality System for New Products from component to assembly within a Product Development team. Monitors and Guides Product Development team to ensure Advanced Quality Planning is used in the development process. Monthly project reviews with supervisor and assistance as needed. Accountable to Product Development Team, manufacturing plants globally and customer Tasks can include complex problem solving activities and require the ability to multi-task and set priorities on many different problems on multiple New Products at the same time


The Experience You Will Bring

Requirements:

  • 3 years' experience in Quality Engineering or related field
  • Engineering degree or related field 
  • Solid knowledge of Metrology and GD&T
  • Proficient in MS Office
  • Willing to travel Domestic and international(5%)
  • Working knowledge of electronic assembly, testing, molding, stamping, plating and assembly processes. 


What Will Put You Ahead

  • Quality System (ISO 9001 or TS 16949) and Supplier Auditing Experience
  • 7 plus years experience in Quality Engineering in a new-product introduction environment
