Logistics Transportation Coordinator

CONTACTS:

The contacts will be both internal & external at operational levels in the organizations with most interaction in the areas of logistics, customer service, transportation and IT. This position will provide support to the overall international strategy .

PRIMARY PURPOSE:

Provide logistics expertise to all operational groups within the Americas Region through operational and optimal solutions in the area of track, trace, documentation creation, order booking

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

1.

Manage and own the international export process including booking, scheduling, forecasting, SAP document creation, communication with transportation providers for both customer and intercompany movements at the distribution center.

2.

Ensure export documentation accuracy on all export shipments in accordance with compliance requirements for both export and importation of shipments

3.

Engage Global Trade Compliance regarding any regional and special compliance requirements to ensure compliance at at both orgin and destination for each shipment.

4.

Ensure Compliance is the number one priority in all endeavors.

5.

Promote opportunities to improve processes and supporting systems, leverage the SAP platform and tools to createoptimal value, and drive innovation in logistics

6.

Collaborate with the global transportation team to assess supply/demand needs regarding transportation movements to effectively move goods in conjunction with overall Koch strategy.

7.

Provide ongoing support to other function groups on daily requests for tracking, tracing, documentation updates, SAP updates.

8.

Provide ongoing support for TMS integrations, implementation and updates

9.

Perform other related duties as assigned by management.

SCOPE:

This position will support the regional logistics and distribution operations with daily activity supporting the plants, supply chain hubs and internal departments of customer service, import planning, customs and warehouse operations as required. To support these activities, the logistics coordinator(s) will perform duties at the direction of the Transportation Supervisor. These activities include but are not limited to critical shipping requirements, i.e. expedites;,.It requires independent actions taken based on high level direction given from management as to the overall strategies and objectives of the department. This position allows for independent decision making within the scope of the role to execute daily functions with accountability for such actions and decisions. This position does not allow for high level decisions that can have a significant operational or financial impact to the regions supply chain structure.

EDUCATION:

REQUIRED:

·High School Diploma

PREFERRED:

·Bachelor degree in Business, Logistics or Supply Chain Management

WORK EXPERIENCE:

REQUIRED:

·2+ years of international transportation and logistics work experience or equivalent; 4+ years without Bachelors degree

·2+ years of export experience with export documentation, export filing process

PREFERRED:

·5+ years of transportation and logistics work experience with Bachelor degree; 8+ years without Bachelors degree

SKILLS & ABILITIES:

    REQUIRED:

    ·ERP systems experience

    ·PC Skills: All Microsoft applications with focus on Excel, Access & Power Point

    ·Thorough knowledge of logistics and supply chain functions including domestic and international freight regulations, processes, documentation and pricing

    ·Demonstrated ability to think critically and make sound decisions and escalate appropriately

    ·Effective verbal and written communication skills that demonstrate the ability to express ideas and exchange information clearly and concisely

    ·Organization skills to anticipate, plan, organize and self-monitor workload

    PREFERRED:

    ·SAP experience

    ·Demonstrated ability to analyze information and make sound recommendations.

    ·Knowledge of Share Point administration environment

    ·Ability to work extended and/or flexible hours throughout each month
