Senior VAT Specialist - Subject Matter Expert


We are a growing team of financial and tax reporting professionals, based in our Koch compliance hub in Katowice. Being an integral part of Koch Industries Inc., the second largest private corporation in USA in 2021 and America's Best Employers By State 2020 according the Forbes Magazine, we help various Koch companies in Europe to do business in line with local tax and accounting legislation.

Extent of services we provide is far beyond scope of typical Shared Service Center as AP, AR and most of GL accounting is delivered by other Koch partners. We prepare Financial Statements, Tax analytics, Government reports. We closely cooperate with external auditors and coordinate statutory audits for Koch businesses. We support tax audits and other governmental reviews. We prepare accounting treatment for ad hoc operations, when an extraordinary business event, like investment or merger, needs to be reflected in the books. What You Will Do In Your Role

  • Being a key team member responsible for preparation of VAT, ESL and Intrastat returns for one of the biggest manufacturing company in Europe with multiple VAT registrations
  • Coordination of VAT reporting across Europe and become a Subject Matter Expert supporting other team members in VAT compliance reporting
  • Working closely with internal tax, supply chain and IT departments in design, implementation and testing new VAT reporting enhancements in SAP and OneSource Tax Determination tool
  • Enhancing knowledge on reporting complex VAT transactions as well as accounting matters and principles under local GAAPs
  • Supporting internal tax department in dealing with tax authorities during external tax audits

The Experience You Will Bring


  • Accounting/finance/tax educational background
  • Previous involvement in process of preparation of VAT, ESL and Intrastat returns
  • Knowledge about reporting of intra-EU and import/export transactions in line with EU VAT Directive
  • Ability to interpret VAT regulations to propose proper VAT reporting
  • Eagerness to develop knowledge in the area of VAT compliance and look for potential improvements/enhancement in VAT reporting process
  • Good knowledge of Excel
  • Experience in SAP and BI SAP reporting tool will be appreciated
  • Fluency in English (other European languages like French, German would be an asset)
  • Solid analytical and planning skills
