Hardware Engineer - Optical Solutions

We provide cutting edge Wavelength Selective Switch (WSS) and amplifier technology with a comprehensive optical, mechanical, electrical and software integration capabilities enable us to serve the needs of high-density, high-bandwidth, and flexible optical networks.

In Bridgewater, we serve large, global clients in telecom and datacom industries in providing next generation optical modules to support the growing need for data and communications. We are developing optical alignment techniques and opto-mechanical assemblies for Wavelength Selective Switches. 

We are looking for a Hardware Engineer that will be responsible for the overall Hardware design, verification and support of products for use in telecom applications and next generation agile optical networks. This Hardware Engineer will work in close collaboration with multi-disciplinary teams to implement the design. This position will support all phases circuit development starting with system requirements and proof of concept throughout implementation, validation and release to production. 

What You Will Do In Your Role

  • Work collaboratively on a team of FPGA, Hardware, Mechanical, PCB and Embedded software designers
  • Design electronic circuits, select components and perform electrical simulations
  • Perform electrical design validation testing and run qualification testing
  • Perform failure analysis
  • Provide support to production team
  • Provide technical documentation

The Experience You Will Bring


  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical, Computer or Systems Design Engineering 
  • Hands on hardware engineering experience
  • Experience working within a manufacturing and/or engineering organization
  • Experience with typical laboratory test instrumentation: oscilloscopes, power supplies, meters, etc.
  • Experience with SMD (Surface mount devices) components during PCB bring-up and testing

What Will Put You Ahead

  • Experience with board design and layout
  • Experience with OrCAD CIS
  • Experience with HW validation, measurements, failure analysis
  • Experience with high reliability and critical operation electronics product development
  • Experience using scripting languages (TCL, Python) for carrying out verification
