Engineer, Product Design

What You Will Do In Your Role

  • Assist manufacturing and quality in failure analysis. 
  • With some guidance from project engineers and engineering managers, develop new product designs and handling all phases required to bring concepts into production. 
  • Verify product design. Check manufacturing drawings for completeness and accuracy. Perform engineering tests and submits product for screen and qualification testing in the reliability lab. 
  • Coordinate new product development, debug and release. Follow all product development steps, supply tooling groups with necessary drawings for quoting and tool build. Assist and support manufacturing in the debug process. Responsible for follow-up, documentation, publishing and expediting all action items of a new product program. 
  • Prepare and follow engineering change requests (ECR) per document control procedures. 
  • Interface with internal departments (manufacturing, quality, lab, sales and marketing) to ensure design objectives are met in a timely manner and assist by providing product information, engineering samples and technical advice. Also interface with suppliers and customers. 
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by management.


The Experience You Will Bring

Requirements:

  • EDUCATION: 
  1. Bachelor's degree in engineering (ME, EE, etc.)
  • WORK RELATED EXPERIENCE: 
  1. 2+ years design experience. 
  2. Knowledge of drafting standards and design layout.
  • SKILLS: 
  1. CAD skills (2D and 3D) .
  2. Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly and concisely. 
  3. Good English communication skills: verbal and written.


What Will Put You Ahead

  • EDUCATION: 
  1. ME
  • WORK RELATED EXPERIENCE: 
  1. 3+ years experience in product design. 
  2. Design experience in some of the following areas: molding, plating, stamping and assembly. 
  3. Proficiency in Tolerance Analysis. 
  4. Knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC).
  • SKILLS: 
  1. Previous experience with working in a team environment where the focus is on the larger organizational goal versus individual concerns.
  2.  Willingness to work as part of a global team. 
  3. Experience in failure analysis and root cause analysis techniques such as 8D & 7 step process.
