Plating Process Engineer & Maintenance Supervisor  1st shift Exempt

Design and modify the plating processes to improve quality, safety, housekeeping, and efficiency. Supervise, coach and develop the Maintenance personnel. Oversee maintenance related activities such as breakdowns, projects, and PM completeness.

What You Will Do In Your Role

Work with Plating Engineering staff and department personnel to eliminate systemic issues in all processes to improve safety, quality, efficiency and productivity.

Design, coordinate, build, and implement new processes as well as seek out, evaluate and purchase plating equipment that will improve plating speeds, product quality and enhance process capabilities.

Provide Operator training for new procedures and processes. Write operating procedures and complete accurate process documentation. Draw and alter existing 2D equipment and component prints.

Meet Quality and EH&S Management System requirements thru proper record keeping, completion of dept. RR&E initiatives and personnel training.

Supervise, coach and develop the Maintenance Technician staffing using MBM philosophies, with an emphasis on Transformation and Safety.

Maintain inventories and order process spare parts and equipment components as needed.

Participate in Process Design Reviews and FMEA’s.

Identify, implement, and track cost savings and avoidance.

Organize the execution and timely completion of preventative and emergency work orders by assigning them to maintenance personnel.

Ensure all new and existing equipment have appropriate preventative maintenance schedules assigned to them to increase uptime of equipment.

Actively seek input from equipment users, process techs and engineers to ensure existing equipment and processes are operating with no downtime and high efficiencies.

The Experience You Will Bring


Associates degree in a technical field and five years' experience as a lead or supervisor in a manufacturing setting.

Must be competent in decision-making and the ability to maintain organization while multi-tasking. Must have the ability to communicate and work effectively in a team-based environment. Must demonstrate a history of maintaining a good working relationship with all areas of the organization. Working knowledge of MS Office software and AutoCAD. Must have good technical writing skills.

What Will Put You Ahead

Experienced in using AutoCAD, Cocreate or NX. 

Good mechanical abilities. Understanding of AC/DC principals and machine control systems. Basic knowledge of plating processes and chemistry.
