The senior structural engineer will join our structural engineering team located in our Indian Design and Engineering center to execute engineering activities for equipment packages (Flare Systems, Thermal Oxidizer Systems, Vapor Recovery Units, Distillation Skids, Membrane Skids etc.).
You will be responsible for the customer specification review, performing mechanical calculations and structural analysis and design, compiling calculation report, and 3D model and drawing review and approval. Working in a multidisciplinary international team, you will deliver to ensure the design packages to meet the customer requirements on time and with sound design quality in the optimized manner. Upon need you will have customer contacts to illustrate solutions and details about the defined design
What You Will Do In Your Role
1.Perform strength calculations for equipment and piping supporting structures, including module transportation and lifting analysis.
2.Perform evaluation of localized stresses on components for imposed loads utilizing WRC 107/297 or FEA (finite element analysis).
3.Perform FEA for nonstandard, irregular and complex geometries using tools like ANSYS.
4.Perform strength calculations for steel stacks and support structures (Self supported, Guy wired, and Derrick supported), including natural frequency calculation and modal analysis.
5.Conduct pipe stress and flexibility analysis of piping systems as per ASME B31.3 & B31.1 code requirement using Caesar II software program.
6.Perform calculations for static equipment such as pressure vessels, pressure piping, and waste heat recovery systems as per domestic and international codes and standards.
7.Support proposal engineering team during preordering stage for estimates.
8.Participate in layout engineering during model review stage.
9.Guide technically CAD designers and drafters.
10.Review inhouse and vendor drawing submittals.
11.Timely resolution of technical doubts by effectively communicating with global counterparts.
12.Ensure rigorous peer review and improve quality of engineering drawings and documents.
13.Foster effective communication on technical aspects with customers.
14.Initiate and coordinate engineering activities related to the packages.
15.Assist project, sales and design teams on technical matters.
The Experience You Will Bring
1.Bachelor’s / master’s Degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering
2.Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience in design and engineering of static equipment, stacks, piping and large steel structures such as derricks, radiation fences and tanks.
3.Familiar with US design codes (such as ASCE-7, AISC 360, ASME STS-1 / BPV / B31.3, and API) and major international codes (such as EuroCodes, NBCC, AS/NZ, Russian, Chinese and IS Codes) for pressure vessel, stack, pressure piping and steel structure design.
4.Operating proficiency and experience in software STAAD Pro, RAM Connections or LimCon, COMPRESS, CAESAR, MecaStack, PRG Software and ANSYS.
5.Basic knowledge of welding and fabrication processes, layouts engineering and specification.
6.Basic knowledge to understand and interpret fabrication drawings.
7.Good understanding on different materials as per national and internal standards.
8.Good communication skill to interact with customer, Vendor, Inspection agencies & consultants.

What Will Put You Ahead
You have good language skills supported by the knowledge of an additional European language such as Italian, French, German or Russian.
You have previous experiences in fatigue and thermal induced fatigue analysis on pressure vessels.
You have previous experience in design of vertical steel structures subject to flow induced vibrations.
You have business sensitivity. You are capable to find the most cost effective solution optimizing use of resources and fulfilling customer’s specifications.
You have previous experiences in design of steel structures for offshore marine applications
