Phillips Medisize, a Molex company from the KOCH enterprise is proud to announce the launch of a new greenfield project in Chorzów within the Katowice area. The major investment will result in establishing a new manufacturing plant producing medical device products and equipment for major players from medical and pharmaceutical industry in Europe.

In connection with the launch of the investment, we will be looking for employees for key positions for the company in the areas of quality, production, logistics, engineering, supply chain as well as HR , IT and Finance. Recruitment will be conducted for a period of one and a half years, starting from now until the end of 2022. The construction of the plant is a great opportunity for local candidates as well as specialists from outside the region. Our investment is planned in the long term and the plant will grow.

Our company operates on the basis of modern technologies related to the medical and pharmaceutical market as well as high work culture and standards, and the newly built plant is to become the main Phillips Medisize production center for Europe.

Currently we are hiring for:

Process Engineer Injection Moulding 

The Process Engineering IM will provide technical support/solutions for the Production team and the NPI (New Product Introduction) team to ensure optimal Injection Moulding processes achieving optimal quality & yield targets. 

What You Will Do In Your Role

  • Provide technical expertise, support and training for production personnel; investigate and troubleshoot production problems; determine root cause and initiate corrective action as required 
  • Provide technical support/solutions to manufacturing processes, driving to achieve and exceed yield targets, with continuous cost reduction and optimal quality 
  • Apply scientific moulding aligned with company wide standards for development, validation and optimisation / change of moulding processes 
  • Coordinate, direct and lead process engineering efforts to ensure optimum process engineering of projects/programs to meet customer and manufacturing requirements 
  • Troubleshoot press issues, with the assistance of the maintenance group 
  • Evaluate functionality of tools, fixtures and secondary processes and make recommendations for modifications or production readiness 
  • Sample parts for engineering builds including setup and testing of new and revised production tools to establish parameters, process validation, and completion of required documentation 
  • Implement technical solutions to meet customer and company cost, quality, and delivery expectations 
  • Participate in continual improvement / innovation, corrective action and internal / external customer satisfaction activities 
  • Interface with customers on a regular basis to resolve issues 
  • Assist in up-front design and processing considerations of new mold builds (DFM-Design for Manufacturing/Moulding)
  • Cooperate with SCAR (Supplier Corrective Action Report) handling issued based on NCR’s (Non-conformance Report), improve process for supplier data submission to reduce internal inspections 
  • Work with technical staff in performing root cause analysis and implementing corrective and preventive actions to preclude recurrence, develop and improve processes to reduce variability 
  • Propose process improvements based on analyses of internal data 
  • Actively participate in CAPA (Corrective and Preventive Actions) process 
  • Cooperate with technical staff in performing of FMEA (Failure Mode and Effects Analysis) 
  • Work in compliance with current good manufacturing practice (GMP)
  • Provide records in compliance with good documentation practice (GDP)
  • Travel to other facilities may be required to support business needs 
  • Safety/Environmental: 
    • Where applicable, individuals will be required to ensure safety is planned into their work activities to improve performance 
    • Proactively identify safety concerns 
    • Comply with Environmental Management System Program SOP’s (Standard Operating Procedures) and WI’s (Working Instructions), Policy & Program elements and encourage responsible use of resources 


The Experience You Will Bring

Requirements:

  • Higher education (e.g. bachelor’s degree) in a Polymer engineering field and/or equivalent knowledge and skills via work experience
  • Fluent English and Polish language skills (min. level of B2)
  • Good related experience in a manufacturing / operations environment
  • Fundamental understanding of Plastic Injection moulding including scientific approach to developing and optimizing plastics injection mould processes 
  • Ability to use CAD to determine if tooling, equipment, and part designs meet requirement 
  • Knowledge of Statistical Techniques 
  • Good manufacturing practice (GMP)
  • Demonstrated good communication, teamwork, and organizational skills 
  • Ability to lead others. Responsibility may include direct supervision of technicians and mentoring/leading engineers 
  • MS Office 365 proficiency and working knowledge of 3D CAD tools (SolidWorks preferred) 
  • Flexible, punctual and reliable, willing to take on challenges and show initiative 
  • Respectful of self and others, proactive
  • Ability to make rationalized decisions and to challenge others respectfully 


What Will Put You Ahead

  • Experience working in a medical manufacturing environment preferred
  • Experience with Minitab 
  • Robot/EOAT programming
  • Experience with SAP
