Phillips Medisize, a Molex company from the KOCH enterprise is proud to announce the launch of a new greenfield project in Chorzów near Katowice. The major investment will result in establishing a new manufacturing plant producing medical device products and equipment for major players from medical and pharmaceutical industry in Europe.

In connection with the launch of the investment, we will be looking for employees for key positions for the company in the areas of quality, production, logistics, engineering, supply chain as well as HR , IT and Finance. Recruitment will be conducted for a period of one and a half years, starting from now until the end of 2022. The construction of the plant is a great opportunity for local candidates as well as specialists from outside the region. Our investment is planned in the long term and the plant will grow.

Our company operates on the basis of modern technologies related to the medical and pharmaceutical market as well as high work culture and standards, and the newly built plant is to become the main Phillips Medisize production center for Europe.

Currently we are hiring for:

Tooling Engineer Injection Moulding 

The Tooling Engineer IM (Injection Moulding) manages the tool build process at both internal and external tool suppliers. The Tooling Engineer IM will provide technical support/solutions for the Production team and the NPI (New Product Introduction) team by coordinating and leading tooling activities to ensure optimum engineering, to meet customer and manufacturing requirements, and to ensure optimal quality & yield targets. 

What You Will Do In Your Role

  • Tool supplier selection process in line with Global Approved Vendor List Strategy (AVL) 
  • Point of technical contact for Tool Suppliers 
  • Write tool specifications and develop individual tool URSs based on Phillips-Medisize requirements 
  • Develop tooling manufacturing timelines with detailed tool build plans and communicate progress and/or changes on tooling to Program Manager and/or Customer Service representatives 
  • Assist in up-front design and processing considerations of new mold builds (DFM-Design for Manufacturing/Moulding) 
  • Lead review and approval process of tool design 
  • FOT (First Off Tool) review process incl. feedback to toolmaker 
  • Support selection process of auxiliary equipment 
  • Set requirements for FOT and coordinate FOT build, sample measure, tool trimming, testing, and approval 
  • Lead and execute all steps in the Tool Commissioning Process (final approval) 
  • Support the Process engineers during the commissioning and validation phases 
  • Provide tooling related technical expertise, support and training for production personnel; investigate and troubleshoot tooling problems
  • Evaluate functionality of tools, fixtures and secondary processes and make recommendations for modifications or production readiness 
  • Cooperate with SCAR (Supplier Corrective Action Report) handling issueс based on NCR’s (Non-conformance Report)
  • Work with technical staff in performing root cause analysis and implementing corrective and preventive actions (CAPA)
  • Cooperate with technical staff in performing of FMEA (Failure Mode and Effects Analysis)
  • Work in compliance with current good manufacturing practice (GMP)
  • Provide records in compliance with good documentation practice (GDP)
  • Travel to other facilities may be required to support business needs 
  • Safety/Environmental: 
    • Where applicable, individuals will be required to ensure safety is planned into their work activities to improve performance 
    • Proactively identify safety concerns
    • Comply with Environmental Management System Program SOP’s (Standard Operating Procedures) and WI’s (Working Instructions), Policy & Program elements and encourage responsible use of resources 


The Experience You Will Bring

Requirements:

  • Higher education in a Tooling engineering, Mechanical engineering, Plastics engineering or equivalent studies and/or equivalent knowledge and skills via work experience 
  • solid experience in tool contract manufacturing
  • Fluent English and Polish language skills (both at min. level of B2)
  • Plastic Injection tooling tool design principals 
  • Advanced knowledge of the tool build industry in Europe 
  • Knowledge of Plastics materials and injection molding 
  • Ability to use CAD to determine if tooling, equipment, and part designs meet requirements
  • Good manufacturing practice (GMP) experience
  • Demonstrated good communication, teamwork, and organizational skills 
  • Ability to lead others. Responsibilities may include direct supervision of technicians and mentoring/leading engineers
  • MS Office 365 proficiency and 3D CAD tools expertise (SolidWorks preferred)
  • Ability to work in a team environment, flexible, punctual and reliable 
  • Respectful of self and others, proactive
  • Ability to make rationalized decisions 
  • Ability to challenge others respectfully 


What Will Put You Ahead

  • Additional Tool making & Polymer process courses
  • Understanding of product development and industrialization processes of plastics components 
  • Experience working in a medical manufacturing environment preferred
  • Broad understanding of Plastic Injection moulding technologies 
  • Advanced knowledge of the tool build industry in in other global locations (US, Asia)
  • Experience with SAP and Minitab
