Georgia-Pacific’s Mill in Camas, WA is looking for Production Operators that may work in any area of the facility including working on a Paper Machine, working on Converting Machines, or operating Mobile Equipment within our Logistics department. They create value by safely operating and maintaining our equipment to meet production goals and to create a quality product for our customers. This position may require you to work a rotating shift to include evenings, weekends, holidays, and overtime. Other schedules may be assigned depending on the business necessity.
Georgia-Pacific’s paper mill in Camas, WA has been in operation since 1883. This mill employs approximately 150 people and manufactures paper towel. For more information on our consumer products division, please visit: http://www.gp.com/.
What You Will Do In Your Role
·Actively contributing to creating a safe work environment
·Operating equipment to defined standards and product specifications targets
·Adjusting machinery and making minor equipment repairs
·Assisting and performing equipment changeovers
·Doing daily inspections and preventative maintenance tasks, including lubrication
·Operating mobile equipment, such as a forklift
·Operating computer distributed control systems
·Working in a sometimes hot, cold, dusty and noisy industrial environment
·Working around dust, oil, grease, chemicals and other substances
·Maintaining strict adherence to safety rules and regulations, including wearing safety equipment
·Ability to perform tasks such as lifting up to 50 lbs, walking, climbing, stooping, standing, pushing and/or pulling for at least (8) hours a day
·Handling chemicals used for the manufacturing processes
The Experience You Will Bring
·High School Degree or GED
·Experience using a computer for record-keeping and documentation functions
·Meet the physical and safety requirements of the job
What Will Put You Ahead
·Two (2) years or more of experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment
·Experience in the pulp and paper industry
·Two (2) years or more of experience troubleshooting and repairing equipment
