What You Will Do In Your Role

  1. Create and finalize the manufacturing strategy of new project based on business information and tooling quotes and “make vs buy” decision and MBM guiding principle.
  2. Complete Make vs Buy Decision for components/FGs - Based on input from the cross-functional team and the sourcing team (which is documented via the Make v Buy Matrix) finalize make v buy decision for each component.
  3. Coordinate with finance regarding GCA creation/update, and support finance to get final approval by PM/management.
  4. Lead cross-function team including PDE/AQP/SI/PE/PJM to review product design concept, and close all open concerns from manufacturing process and/or outside suppliers before design freeze.
  5. Propose the basic manufacturing process, physical location production rates, labor needs, packaging methods and other pertinent manufacturing information required to develop pricing.
  6. Create and finalize process flow diagrams-concept the manufacturing process through the coordinated efforts of the PDT, by identifying the broad details of the total process such as stamping, injection molding, insert molding, stitching, assembly and other processes required to manufacture all of the components and the final product.
  7. Identify the potential capability risks of stamping/plating/IMD/molding/assembly tooling, and provide the mitigation plan, and oversee its execution. Throughout the entire project.
  8. Manage technical development aspects of Commercial/Enterprise/BMS… manufacturing projects from simple hand assembly to large high-volume complex automation.
  9. Provide coordination support to planning, procuring and development services for tooling and equipment unique to a product such as dies, molds, assembly equipment, fixtures and any other specific equipment necessary to produce the product.
  10. Coordinate the technical efforts of the tooling groups and plant engineers to assure that financial and technical assumptions are achieved.
  11. Coordinate with program management regarding the division of responsibilities on a given program, leaving the greater level of technical detail to the MIE.
  12. Manage the interface with Product Engineering and the PDT to assess manufacturing feasibility of the product, identifying any limitations of the proposed design. Document all concerns and report to the PDT.
  13. Coordinate and oversee component PFMEA-Oversee the completion of tool specific PFMEA led by the associated tool engineer.
  14. Oversee the component tool design review and build process led by the tool engineers. Evaluated any and all changes in respect to the affect on upstream & downstream processes, the affect on the manufacturing process as a whole and the impact to total program delivery. Modify the manufacturing process develop plan accordingly.
  15. Lead cross-function team to address major manufacturing issues after FOT, to ensure the project to meet the goal of efficiency rate/utilization rate/quality/delivery…
  16. Develop new technology/process to meet new projects development requirements.
  17. Understand, support and contribute to current Molex Total Quality Management (TQM), Six Sigma, International Standards Organization (ISO) and Environmental, and/or Health and Safety (EH&S) Management Systems by following stated policies and procedures. Understand the words, concepts and apply the MBM Guiding Principles to achieve profitable results.
  18. Perform other related duties as assigned by management.


Requirements:

  1. Clear logic thinking and good economical thinking.
  2. Good decision making ability.
  3. Strong communication skills and effective interpersonal skills with cross-function team and all areas of management.
  4. Good leadership with cross-function team.
  5. Good English ability including speaking/listening/writing/reading.
  6. Basic knowledge of connector manufacturing processes: stamping, molding/IMD and assembly.
  7. Mechanism design coupled with strong math and mechanism analysis skills.
  8. Ability to read and interpret product, tool detail and assembly drawings.
  9. Tool detail manufacturing and fabrication process knowledge.
  10. Ability to quote the design, build, assembly and debug of assembly equipment.
