based in Varna, Bulgaria 

The Vessel Performance Analyst at KOCH Shipping PTE LTD is an integral component of the Shipping team. They interact internally with traders, operations, legal professionals, contract administration, accounting, and credit to oversee vessel performance and its implications on Freight Trading. The Vessel Performance Analyst develops and maintains relationships with owners and vessel managers, ensuring timely collection of vessel performance claims.

What You Will Do In Your Role

  • Promote and maintain the vessel performance capability by assessing vessel fuel consumption and speed performance against the charter party contract 
  • Contribute to an evolving effort of building new analysis and procedures to improve operational efficiency as well as commercial optimization 
  • Systematically review Koch’s charter party contracts, highlight potential commercial risks, and advise when vessel performance language requires change 
  • Interpret, submit, and negotiate performance claims in line with time charterparty terms 
  • Build and maintain relationships with internal and external customers 
  • Actively communicate with counterparties to ensure timely collection of receivables 
  • Report status of performance claims negotiations to traders 
  • Analyze vessel performance trends to understand market changes and advise trading group in ways to minimize future risk 
  • Develop vessel performance metrics and reporting data to stay ahead of an ever-changing business

What Will Put You Ahead

  • Bachelor's Degree (Maritime, Accounting, Business, Finance, Mathematics) or licensed merchant marine officer (preferred) 
  • Solid direct experience with time charterparties and vessel performance negotiation 
  • Proficient in Office 365
  • English and Bulgarian on Professional level (min. C1)
