Functional Safety Professional (m/w/d) 

based in München


What You Will Do In Your Role

  • Develop a safety-compliant cell contacting system interface solution to link up battery cells for electric vehicles and energy storage system 
  • Lead and coordinate creation of functional safety documentation according ISO26262 
  • Responsible for creating and managing the safety plan throughout development life-cycle, including production and field monitoring
  • Analyze customer specification and manage all functional safety aspects in hardware development projects 
  • Define functional and technical safety requirements 
  • Develop corresponding safety architectures and safety plans to ensure compliance with ISO26262
  • Cascade safety requirements to systems, subsystems, and component levels 
  • Responsible for analysis and acceptance of safety related documentation, including but not limited to preliminary hazard analysis, DFMEA, FMEDA, qualitative and quantitative fault tree analysis


The Experience You Will Bring

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electromechanical engineering, automotive engineering or a comparable degree program, higher degree preferred
  • Fluent German (min level C1)
  • Ability to effectively communicate, influence, and work cross functionally at all levels of an organization 
  • Strong fundamental in battery pack engineering for automotive or energy storage application 
  • Batteries and battery systems used in electric vehicles (prismatic, cylindrical, soft pouch etc) 
  • Mechanical structural design for safety and thermal management 
  • Electrical system integration (e.g cell module unit, cell supervisory circuitry)
  • Development and integration of components in an interdisciplinary team of internal process owners and external suppliers. Examples include but not limited to injection or thermoforming plastic, sheet metal, die cast, extruded and composite components


What Will Put You Ahead

  • Solid and relevant industry experience is a must-have
  • Experience with Products Development Life Cycle (Systems, Software) in Automotive
  • Knowledge of High Voltage (HV) battery welded modules and how cell balancing works 
  • Understanding of electrical, thermal and mechanical characteristics of cells, modules and packs (cell module unit, BMS (Battery Management System) integration)
