Georgia-Pacific LLC Controllers Organization is seeking NW Region Controller to lead the fiduciary support for several manufacturing locations within our NA Consumer Products Division. A strong potential candidate for this role will be self-directed in a dynamic environment - able to set priorities and meet deadlines – you will enjoy fiduciary accounting, business partnering, and have the ability to influence and create value – you will have demonstrated progressive experience in related roles and are seeking to continue to grow with the organization. We have offices available in the region, and will also consider candidates residing in the region who can work remotely and meet the travel requirements of the role when needed.

What You Will Do In Your Role

  • Fiduciary oversight of several manufacturing locations within the Region – ensuring the accuracy of the general ledger through proper accounting treatment performed both locally and through shared services
  • Management of month end closing process and review
  • Balance sheet analysis and income statement oversite
  • Exercise stewardship over site’s assets (inventory and capital)
  • Partner with our Internal Center of Excellence to communicate Internal Financial Controls and expectations and drive any corrective actions
  • Audit support and relationship contact with external auditors
  • Partner within Consumer Business Segment as well as serve as point of contact with other Centers of Excellence and the Koch Global Services Accounting Organization
  • Promote innovative ideas for accounting and related analysis that create efficiency and reduce waste
  • Participate in cross functional business improvement initiatives
  • Drive transformation by respectfully challenging historical practices and leveraging technology enablers and automation
  • Understand the division and overall corporate vision and partner with location leadership and others to ensure alignment
  • Establish yourself as a key part of the leadership team within the region and division by effectively challenging and employing economic thinking concepts
  • Be a champion of Market Based Management ® philosophy and application 
  • Ability to travel when needed (could be up to 25% depending on geographic location and seasonal peaks; may include overnight stays)

The Experience You Will Bring

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related Business field 
  • Previous experience in a role that required a well-developed understanding of fiduciary accounting concepts including GAAP, the general ledger, the period close process, and financial statements
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite or Office 365; (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, SharePoint, PowerApps)
  • Intermediate to Advanced level MS Excel skills 
  • Experience with integrated financial systems, complex accounting systems, and database structure

What Will Put You Ahead

  • Five years or more of experience in a Controller, Operations Accounting, or Plant Controller role 
  • Previous experience in a role that required a solid understanding of key costing concepts, operations, financial economics and manufacturing
  • Experience with SAP is a plus
  • Experience with business analysis and data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau, or Alteryx) is a plus
  • Manufacturing industry experience and/or Global company experience is plus!
