The DevOps Analyst will be a part of a global operations team to perform development/ automation activities and provide on-call and front-line support for numerous enterprise trading applications for Koch Supply and Trading (part of Koch Industries).

Koch Technology Center (KTC) is being developed in India to extend Koch’s IT operations, as well as act as a hub for innovation in the IT function. As KTC rapidly scales up its operations in India, it’s employees will get opportunities to carve out a career path for themselves within the organization. This role will have the opportunity to join on the ground floor and will play a critical part in helping build out the Koch Technology Center (KTC) over the next several years. Working closely with regional and global colleagues would provide significant global exposure to the employees.

The DevOps Analyst will report to a Manager of KTC.

What You Will Do In Your Role

  • Perform development and automation tasks as planned in sprint board.
  • Implement procedures to actively improve system supportability
    • Proactively monitor application processes for all systems in a shift during US Weekdays 8 AM to 8 PM CST on rotation.
    • Manage and own all tickets in KS&T’s Service Now (SNOW) queue, responding based on specified ticket priority and in keeping with Service Level Agreements (SLA) time commitments, delegating responsibility as needed.
    • Respond to automated system alerts for all applications, servers, databases, etc.
    • Escalation and notification of outages and production issues to customers, IT teams, and management as necessary
    • Coordinating with different teams, vendors, KBS Help Desk and System Coordinators resolve issues and ensure systems are running nominally
    • Understand and resolve root causes of anomalies
    • Provide analysis and problem definition for production issues
    • Ensure system availability by reviewing and helping set system maintenance schedules
    • Document any new issues encountered for future reference
    • Possess and build knowledge of the business processes and applications
    • Understand system criticality and business impact
    • When necessary, execute migrations in staging and production environments to include the installation of required software on Servers.
    • Proactively identify areas of risk to bring about awareness and to recommend solutions to eliminate or limit risks
    • Provide a detailed hand off, verbally or written, of support issue(s) to next OnCall responsible team member, which includes forwarding of x2223, Service queue management, and application process monitoring

Requirements:

  • Hands on experience on Python, Amazon Web- Services (AWS).
  • Experience 3 - 7
  • Support or Development Experience in AWS and managing the CI/CD (continuous integration/continuous development).
  • Having good working knowledge of DevOps processes, build & release, automation.
  • Ability to perform Level-2 (L2) activities along with Level-1 (L1) activities.
  • Ability to perform troubleshooting steps, fix code to a certain level, perform DevOps activities.
  • Windows Operating System capabilities and background
  • Unix operating system knowledge, there are a couple of applications hosted on Unix environment – navigating, Start & stop jobs.
  • AWS Cloud technology understanding
  • Experience working with SQLServer and/or Oracle database from an application support perspective
  • Understanding of Git Repository
  • Knowledge and experience of build and deployment
  • Proven track record of innovation and calculated risk taking to achieve results
  • Someone flexible, adaptable, and versatile in the work they do
  • Someone who can quickly jump into unknown or new applications/products and learn about it
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate within a team environment
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Highly-organized with the ability to prioritize and coordinate tasks effectively
  • Experience as a DevOps Analyst or Application Developer

What Will Put You Ahead

·Bachelor's degree or higher in MIS, computer science, computer engineering, math, or related field

·The ability to provide assistance with global trading activity which may require after-hours, US holiday or weekend hours in conjunction with global market closes.

·Ideal candidate will have interest in learning to develop “cloud first” applications using native Amazon Web Services (AWS) and open source technologies.

·Ideal candidate will have interest or previous experience with document DBs (like MongoDB) and Enterprise Service Bus (ESB) technologies (like MuleSoft).

·Web Front End Development Experience (Angular/React)

·Python or Go development experience

·Java Script Development experience

·Enterprise Service Bus (MuleSoft/Rabbit) Integration Experience Business Intelligence Toolset Experience; including BI Reporting Tools (Power BI/Tableau) and Data Cube building/managing
