Sr. Optical Engineer
Develop new and extend existing products to meet or exceed customer expectations. Support manager on all projects in optical design, generating optical models, tolerance analysis, process development, testing plan development, technical documents, and engineering changes, etc.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
1.Design new products and manage product extension. 2.Work with chief optical engineer to design new products, build optical models and perform tolerance analysis 3.Provides technical guidance to engineers and technicians. Provides technical support to customers and suppliers. 4.New technology research 5.Provide theoretical support on process development 6.Understand, support and contribute to current Molex Total Quality Management (TQM), Six Sigma, International Standards Organization (ISO) and Environmental, and/or Health and Safety (EH&S) Management Systems by following stated policies and procedures. 7.Performs design verification activities to ensure that design meets the specifications of the customer and UL requirements. 8.Perform other related duties as assigned by management.

REQUIRED: Master’s degree in phyics, applied physics, optics, or optical engineering PREFERRED: Doctor’s degree in phyics, applied physics, optics, or optical engineering
REQUIRED: 5+ years design experience of passive fiber optic products
PREFERRED: The experience of design and process development in optical passive products
SKILLS & ABILITIES:
•Proficient in Gaussian beam theory and applications •Proficient in Zemax, CODE-V, Matlab or other simulation tools to build models of optical products •Proficient in tolerance analysis •Demonstrated ability to analyse information and solve problems •Good verbal and written skills for exchange of information in a clear and concise manner. •Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a team environment •Familiar with the design process. Familiar with WBS tools to break design tasks. •Good communication skills in English
PREFERRED: •Familiar with design for manufacturing and manufacturing processes •Familiar with the characteristics and use of various adhesives
