The Camden Site currently has an opening for Measurements Operator. This position is posted for internal candidates and is a Level 2 pay structure. The job will be assigned to a shift-based work schedule and shift assignment will be based on business need.

The Measurement Operator performs physical testing and quality control responsibilities for nylon fiber and ensures proper instrument calibration.

Work Schedule:

  • Rotating 12-hour shifts. (36 hours one week, 48 hours the following week)
  • Average full-time work schedule of 14 days per month (includes a 7 day break every month)
  • Rotating shift schedule requires employee to work at least 50% of weekends

Job Responsibilities/Expectations:

  • Work with a sense of urgency with yarn handling
  • Ability to learn and rotate between multiple job assignments
  • Demonstrate flexibility in job assignments and adapt well to change
  • Ability to stand for extended periods
  • Ability to handle sample buggies throughout the shift
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks
  • Work with minimum supervision
  • Troubleshoot area equipment problems
  • Display strong team-player qualities with solid collaboration skills
  • Use critical thinking skills in resolving area challenges and maintaining a safe environment
  • Good communication skills

Physical Requirements &Working Conditions (Ability to perform these requirements with/or without accommodation):

  • Standing, walking, squatting and bending often
  • Lifting up to 15 pounds
  • Pushing up to 45 pounds
  • Physical Abilities test will be required in the areas of strength

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Basic computer skills; e.g. use of basic formulas, ability to enter and sort data
  • Score at the required level for Locating Information (required score- 3) and Observation (required score- 4)
  • High School Diploma or GED 

Preferred Skills:

  • Previous experience in measurement, laboratory or quality control
  • Plant Systems and Operations course (completion within first year)
