Georgia-Pacific Corrugated is at an exciting moment where we are expanding our GP Mailers Business. The Director - Commercial Development position will support the business leader of the GP Mailers Business and will act as his Chief of Staff. The role will serve as the “center of the wheel,” providing coordination and oversight of a cross-functional team through a phase of rapid business growth over the next 18-24 months. Success in this role should lead to next level advancement opportunities.

We need someone who is a self-starter, pro-active and focused on results! The Director will communicate daily with cross functional team members to anticipate problems and prioritize efforts to ensure that we meet the planned growth trajectory. You will also be in frequent communication with the business leader to keep him abreast of progress and to elevate critical issues requiring his attention. 

What You Will Do In Your Role

  • Provide guidance, influence, challenge, and support 
  • Manage cross-functional team to launch 2-3 new manufacturing sites in the next 18-24 months 
  • Identify the critical path and proactively work to keep us on track; roll up sleeves to solve problems as they arise 
  • Lead weekly core team meetings as we execute on site launches 
  • Provide business and project performance monitoring, reporting, and improvement 
  • Draft internal communications including capital requests/Decision Making Framework memos as needed 
  • Think strategically about next phases of growth and work with business leader and team to execute (manufacturing process changes, new product introductions, new/adjacent category expansion) 
  • Be a key point of contact for customers (current and future) for a range of issues 
  • Manage pricing, working with the business leader and other commercial support 

The Experience You Will Bring

  • Bachelor Degree or higher in Finance, Business, Economics, Engineering, or related field 
  • 5 or more years of any combination of experience in: operations finance, strategy, business development, brand management, financial analysis, or business finance (including commercial support roles) 
  • Experience working with financial data and understanding business drivers and key performance indicators 
  • Experience managing across multiple workstreams and initiating clear and timely communication to key stakeholders 
  • Experience creating and presenting data in order to drive decisions 

What Will Put You Ahead

  • Direct Supervisory or Project Leadership experience 
  • MBA, previous business leadership or internal corporate strategy role 
  • Financial analysis experience and point-of-view development 
  • Experience identifying trends, performing analyses, and providing strategic support for business decision-making, including: pricing, contract negotiations, new product launches and capital investments 
  • Experience meeting with high value customers regarding long term strategy, organizing response to customer inquiries, focused on creating value and solving problems.
