Koch Ag & Energy Solutions (“KAES”) is seeking a North America Vessel and Barge Manager to support our Dry & Liquids Value Chain (“DLVC”) business. In the role you will be responsible for coordinating vessel and barge logistics for 2MM tons of imported fertilizer that directly supports trading activities. The role is by nature fast-paced, dynamic and challenging. In order to be successful in this role, an individual must be able to adjust priorities quickly in response to changing circumstances, must be accurate and timely in their communications, and must be comfortable in a culture that expects challenge and debate. In addition, this role involves support of world-wide operations that operate continuously and in multiple time zones. Requires some availability of calls and emails outside office hours. This position is based in Wichita, KS and may be eligible for relocation benefits and offers a competitive salary!

What You Will Do In Your Role

  • Optimization of inbound USA, Canada, and Mexico dry bulk vessel logistics
  • Vessel logistics management includes assisting freight chartering team in getting approvals, international customer communication, international supply offtake logistics excellence and laytime settlement
  • Optimization of dry bulk barge logistics across Koch Fertilizer’s terminal system on the various US river systems
  • Terminal position management in coordination with Koch Fertilizer’s Rail and Truck logistics team and the North American commercial fertilizer sales team
  • Proactive and creative problem-solving skills with an ability to identify potential issues and propose solutions in a timely manner
  • Leverage analytical skills to include excellent time management skills to prioritize tasks to optimize commercial shipments
  • Contribute to a team environment through developing positive working relationships. Able to effectively coordinate and leverage on resources to achieve the desired outcomes

The Experience You Will Bring

Requirements:

  • Two (2) or more years’ logistics experience (can be non-maritime)
  • Willing and able to work before or after office hours as business needs permit

What Will Put You Ahead

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher
  • Maritime logistics experience
  • Experience in the fertilizer industry
  • Experience working in a leadership role as a supervisor or a mentoring role
  • Experience optimizing dry bulk distribution system
