Technician, Injection Moulding Process

Description

The Injection Moulding Process Technician will report to the Senior Process Engineer. Working primarily in Injection Moulding Processing, the individual will play a key role in the validation of new products and in ensuring that productivity within the manufacturing area is always maximized. 

The candidate will be required to support processes outside of the Injection Moulding area, in pad printing, ultrasonic welding, and other assembly processes.

What You Will Do In Your Role

  • Development of robust processes using scientific injection moulding principles.
  • Validation of new products through equipment IQ, process development, DOE, OQ’s and PQ’s.
  • Actively engage with EH&S initiatives, proactively seek out improvement opportunities.
  • Maintain a focus on Quality through a right first time approach.
  • Proactively work to the production schedule to maximize productivity.
  • Generate SOP’s as required and train others.
  • At all times, maintain a culture of continuous improvement, while adhering to required standards of housekeeping, GMP, GDP and safety.

The Experience You Will Bring

Requirements:

  • Significant experience in injection moulding or experience in a similar role in the Medical Device Industry is essential.
  • In-depth knowledge of Injection Moulding equipment, tooling and design.
  • Knowledge of quality standards and expectations within the medical device industry. Knowledge of plastics processes, resins, tooling, & GMP considerations.
  • MS Office proficient.
  • Strong ability to use own initiative, to self-motivate and adapt in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Respond positively to change, embracing and using new practices or values to accomplish goals and solve problems.
  • Demonstrate an ability to effectively plan work and to manage own time.
  • Ability to communicate with a wide variety of people at all levels through appropriate skills: Verbal / Written, Report writing, Presentation and listening.

    What Will Put You Ahead

    • Third Level Qualification in Equipment Processing / Polymer Engineering / Science or related discipline preferred
    • Experience in validation execution is beneficial.
