Global Interconnect Engineering Manager 

Molex is looking for a Global Interconnect Engineering Manager to lead the Interconnect Engineering Team across several sites globally. This position will be based at our Costa Mesa, CA location. Molex is a contract design & manufacturing organization (CDMO) specializing in MedTech interconnect products.

This role is responsible for the leadership, personal development, and growth of a talented pool of engineers focused on the development of complex MedTech devices. The Engineering Manager will work in a matrix organization leading a team focused upon innovating, winning, developing, and commercializing MedTech interconnect products that improve people’s lives.

What You Will Do In Your Role

  • Work with the MedTech virtual BU, site operations, and the global engineering teams to improve overall performance planning, implementing and monitoring strategic initiatives related to the product development and commercialization of interconnect solutions; providing technical support to the sales process; managing innovation to help win new opportunities with customers; generating competitive quotations that meet internal and external expectations; fulfilling the role of the supervisor in the development and leadership of direct reports; and managing a P&L related to team activities.
  • Establish both the standard Design Development Process and standard New Product Introduction process within the interconnect engineering teams while connecting each individual person’s role to the development and commercialization of new products.
  • Drive predictable P&L performance based upon quoted parameters. Work with employees to establish and continuously evolve each individual’s Roles, Responsibilities and Expectations (RR&E’s) that meet both the needs of the business and the growth of the individual.
  • Manage resource allocations by assigning and committing individuals to project teams based upon business priorities and individual strengths.
  • Drive the hiring, personnel development, and performance management processes across the engineering teams. 
  • Drive the development process from early-stage concept work through commercialization.

The Experience You Will Bring

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's  degree in a related Engineering discipline (Systems, Electrical, or Mechanical)
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience managing engineering personnel in product development including: either Systems Engineering, Electronic Design and/or Electrical Design 
  • 5+ years’ experience managing programs that include electronics and related development experience.
  • Deep experience in developing medical cables and interconnect products along with extensive knowledge of medical device applicable standards 
  • Experience developing and mentoring technical professionals. Demonstrated successful supervision of senior engineering talent.
  • Track record of building and maintaining positive relationships with a broad spectrum of stakeholders.

  • Strong interconnect market knowledge is preferred.
