Based in Brandon, Manitoba, we synthesize and blend nitrogen, phosphate, and sulfur products with ammonia, which we market primarily in the prairie provinces of Canada and the northern United States. Operating 24 hours a day, 365 days per year, we employ approximately 280 dedicated team members. Our fundamental commitment to safety, health, and environmental stewardship drives all our processes.

In accordance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement, the successful applicant will be hired into this position at ‘M2’ rate (currently$39.63/hour) and receive a Pay for Knowledge premium of$0.50/hour. All overtime is paid at double time. 

What You Will Do In Your Role

  • Weld repair existing pressurized piping systems
  • Fabricate new pressurized piping systems
  • Maintain and weld repair pressure vessels
  • Perform stick and tig welding
  • Weld stainless and carbon steel
  • Assist pipefitters with tasks as required
  • Work with a partner on assigned tasks
  • Document work in Maximo CMMS
  • Perform other related tasks as assigned
  • Exceptional planning and organizational skills as well as mechanical and operations aptitude
  • Strong commitment to safety, environmental compliance and plant reliability 

Work Conditions and Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to work outdoors in all types of weather
  • Manual dexterity required to use desktop computer
  • Ability to sit, stand, kneel as necessary
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to climb stairs and ladders, work at heights
  • Ability to pass pulmonary breathing test
  • Ability to wear gas mask-type respirator and PPE
  • Tolerance to fumes and airborne particles (occasional exposure)
  • Unassisted physical mobility in and around plant
  • Availability for shift work and emergency call out
  • Ability to travel to and enter site and access equipment 

The Experience You Will Bring

Requirements:

  • Interprovincial Red Seal Welder certification
  • High School Diploma or equivalent (ie. GED)
  • At least three (3) months of related industrial work experience
  • Must hold or be eligible (show hours earned) to obtain F3-F4, F5 and F6 and Pressure Welding Tickets
  • Valid Class Five (5) driver’s license
  • Ability to work proficiently in a variety of tasks
  • Demonstrated problem solving skills to determine best repair solutions
  • Demonstrated computer skills including experience working with maintenance planning programs such as Maximo
