HR Generalist - Temporary

Based in Brandon, Manitoba, we synthesize and blend nitrogen, phosphate, and sulfur products with ammonia, which we market primarily in the prairie provinces of Canada and the northern United States. Operating 24 hours a day, 365 days per year, we employ approximately 280 dedicated team members. Our fundamental commitment to safety, health, and environmental stewardship drives all our processes.

The length of this position may extend up to eight (8) months.

What You Will Do In Your Role

  • Work daily with Integrity, Honesty, Confidentiality and Sensitivity
  • Proven organization and time management skills; detail-oriented; able to work independently
  • Strong analytical, critical, economic thinking, problem solving and customer service skills
  • Provide administrative support to the Human Resources team
  • Provide specific payroll, pension & benefit support to the business
  • Seek opportunities to digitally transform the work we do
  • Understand and help provide direction on interpretation of collective agreement
  • Organize, file and maintain various documents according to our internal RIM program
  • Complete Kronos payroll audits
  • Assist in the development and maintenance in monthly metrics and reports
  • Perform HRIS data entry

The work environment you’ll be entering requires and includes: 

  • Comfortable working in an industrial manufacturing environment
  • Availability for flexible hours based on job requirements
  • Manual dexterity required to use desktop computer and peripherals
  • Occasional exposure to fumes/airborne particles
  • Ability to wear an escape respirator and PPE 

The Experience You Will Bring


  • One (1) year of HR-related Administrative or generalist work experience in a fast-paced setting
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Working knowledge of basic software, specifically with Microsoft office products and electronic payroll system
  • High School Diploma or equivalent

What Will Put You Ahead

  • Certificate or Diploma in Human Resources, Office or Business Administration; B.HR, B. Commerce or a related field
  • CPHR designation, or working towards
  • Related experience in a unionized setting
